Can't find this tweet on Trump's twitter feed anymore. There is Papadapolous right in the middle.

How does the Papadopolous case affect Trump?

The indictment against Mr Trump's former foreign policy adviser has the potential to damage the US leader because it relates directly to his election campaign.

When Mr Papadopolous was interviewed by the FBI this January, he told them that his interactions with the foreign professor, who is said to have "substantial connections to Russian government officials", had taken place before he joined the Trump campaign in March 2016.

But according to the US justice department, his meetings with the professor actually took place after he became an adviser to Mr Trump. The professor only took interest in him because of his new status within the Trump campaign, it is alleged.

Mr Papadopolous is accused of seeking to arrange a meeting "between the Campaign and Russian government officials".

The alleged Russian "dirt" on Mrs Clinton took the form of "thousands of emails". No further details were given.

Former Ukrainian President Yanukovych, who Manafort represented in Ukraine, is hiding in exile in Russia currently.

A warrant for Yanukovych's arrest was issued on 24 February 2014 by the interim government, accusing him of mass murder of protesters. Acting Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov declared that Yanukovych has been placed on Ukraine's most wanted list and that a criminal case on mass killings of civilians has been opened against him.

On 28 February 2014 the General Prosecutor of Ukraine Oleh Makhnitsky formally asked Russia to extradite Yanukovych. Russian prosecutors refused to extradite him, and (contradicting Ukraine's claim) state that they have not received such a request from Ukraine.

A Trump campaign official suggested purposely using lower level personnel for Russian meetings to not "send signals".

Belobog @Belobog that's exactly what I was thinking. Yanukovych was a Putin puppet from the time he came to power to the time Putin had to rescue him from all the protesters.

But yeah he has nothing to do with Russia lol

"As investigators examine Mr. Manafort’s financial and political dealings at home and abroad, they are likely to run into Mr. Gates wherever they look. During the pair’s heady days in Ukraine, it was Mr. Gates who flew to Moscow for meetings with associates of Oleg Deripaska, a Russian oligarch. His name appears on documents linked to shell companies that Mr. Manafort’s firm set up in Cyprus to receive payments from politicians and business people in Eastern Europe, records reviewed by The New York Times show." -New York Times, June 2017

The link to Deripaska is interesting. He's the Russian who has a habit of parking his plane and yacht near Trump's plane, yacht and golf resorts.
