Came down to Atlanta today to compete at Kakuto, the sub only tournament. First time in the Expert division here, and all my matches were against brown belts. I got beat embarrassingly quickly no-gi by a heel hook I did not see coming as I was passing half guard. They combined divisions to make an under 205 Expert division in Gi. I performed much better in gi, but lost both my matches. The fourth guy got hurt and had to drop out before I got to have my match with him.

Way to go Doc, that's a great event with a LOT of tough competition. Good on you for doing that, you'll get them next time for sure.

Yeah you have to be aware on that half guard pass of guys going outside Ashi, or inverting and attacking that kneebar/into honey hole setup on the opposite leg. The nuances of that damn leglock game, it's a bitch.

My comp got cancelled due to weather conditions :(

I trained so hard for this. Shit happens i guess :/

Yeah that was supposed to be my first at brown before the Euros. I won't get another chance to compete until Lisbon

January 27 MMAC Grappling, February 17 BJJ Tour all signed up. I'll be honest, all you guys who do that 1st/2nd weekend of January tournaments are crazy LOL
