So many goodies around this time of year that sometimes are traditionally only sold around this time of year. You couldn't possibly try them all. So it's pretty necessary to have some kind of glossary and index what types of holiday chocolatey treats you have available where you are and whether they are any good.

I traditionally get a lot of Lindts Lindor and seashells as gifts this time of year. All good creamy type chocolates. American chocolate is very sweet though so keep that in mind.

Creamy immitation truffle chocos

Lindor is like the grey poupon of chocolate for working class people like me. A+

Guylian Seashells
There are lot of inferior names putting out seashell chocolates but Guylian is the name brand. Marbled exterior chocolate with hazelnut truffle like interior. Kind of tastes like if chocolate bar had a baby with a jar of nutella. Delicious but I find them a little too sweet. C

Moritz Icy
It's like a zero bar in little squares. I was told these are pretty iconic Holiday chocolates. I really like these types of oily melty chocolates. These are usually very afforable too. C-

Andes Mints
I really likes these. They're thin and minty and affordable like icy squares. Obviously this appeals to those who like mint chocolate like I do. B

Now for chocolate I hate. I don' understand why people like these but none the less they are everywhere during the holiday season.

Hershey kiss
Unwrapping the thin foil is a annoying especially when you have to pick bits of foil of what is essentially a giant chocolate chip. Inferior milk chocolate to boot. D-

Fererro Rocher
I don't like anything with wafer or rice paper inside. I'm not sure why this is so iconic but seems like some people love it. Seems to be more like a cookie to me. It has a thin rice paper like wafer inside a nutella like custard and a whole hazelnut in the center. D

Raffaello
This is kind of like the coconut almond cousin of Fererro Rocher. Complete with that rice paper like wafer. Italian chocolate seems like it just wouldn't appeal to me. They really lover tossing wafers that taste like paper into everything. Since I like just pure unadulterated chocolate -----must----give-----this-----a-----D

Muddy Reindeer
These are not jellies, what makes these so awesome is they are actually chocolate covered gummy bears. They are chewy and fruity inside and not the type of jelly chocolate that sticks to your teeth. B+

Cadbury Fingers
Not bad. These are milk chocolate covered cookies done right. Its a plain vanilla cookie that is crisp covered in cadbury milk chocolate. Very affordable price range. Straightforward chocolate covered cookie in the iconic narrow finger shape. C+

Cadbury Assorted Chocolate covered cookies.
Imo Cadbury makes decent quality cookie chocolate boxes especially considering they're
Always priced affordably. Very typical American style cookie and chocolate. Like a Christie cookie covered in a Cadbury chocolate bar. A little sweet but still delicious. The assorted boxes contain different flavor cookies and a but more fancy for gift giving than the Cadbury fingers. It usually comes in a tin. B

Quality Street
Another British holiday icon you see here in the Americas. I wouldn't really say it's quality, it's not by any means bad quality but its your typical medium range assortment of caramels and varied fillings individually wrapped chocolate candies. Usually comes in a tin. Im not really a fan because there are much better quality mid range chocolates for half the price. You are paying more for British made and the fancy tin . C+

Quality street tins are like safes in the UK. It's where we put our birth certificates and passports and anything important.

After Eights
I believe the real classic version of the chocolate. A thin dark chocolate shell with a mint cream center. Just too sweet for me and I love the combination of mint and chocolate. B

After Eight Stick
Hell Ya! Now we are talking. This version in a stick shape has a solid creamy mint chocolate center in a thin stick form. Its like eating chocolate mint pepperos. Not as sweet as the regular squares of after eight with the running centers. This is the perfect holiday mint chocolate. A+

Terry Chocolate Orange
Not bad if you like flavored milk chocolates in orange and raspberry. They come apart into little wedges. A

Pot of Gold
Very average box chocolates with centers typically of nuts, caramels and immitation truffle. What I don't get is why pot of gold is completely devoid of fruit cream centers? That for me makes this boring box chocolate. Not at all bad for mid priced box chocolate but you get the same handful of boring fillings. Safe bet for people who generally are very picky about chocolate having weird fillings and just boring dull taste buds. C+

Black Magic
It's like the dark chocolate version of Pot of Gold. Safe boring decent. C+

Russell Stovers
Now I wish Pot of Gold had the centers that RS did. That would be the perfect box of midrange chocolates. RS imo has lesser quality chocolate. I wouldn't even put it in midrange but rather low end, but they have the classic vintage fruit cream centers in addition to your typical caramels, nuggets, nuts and truffles that you expect in a box of chocolates. Just a bigger greater range. Too bad its not very good quality though. C+
