Stipe currently wins this fight... What DC did years back in Strikeforce was admirable, but he's pushing 40, has taken some beatings, and looks to be losing a step or two. Just because he beat a (if you're being honest) outclassed, not really ready for a title fight Volkan, doesn't make him a demigod.

I applaud his heart and grit, but I just think his time is passing, and the UFC wants to get as much out of him for their financial gain as possible. Otherwise, have him fight Gustafsson again.... To be honest, I'd rather see Gus against Stipe.
never thought about it but now i am bummed for Gus

now he has to fight again? to get a title shot?

that is BS
he should sit out and be next at the belt

what if DC loses the fight and still has belt, fight won't happen for 1.5 years

man now that I think bout it this holds the divisions or at least one of them up in a major way

my guess is that viewership is down (i havent watched in a couple seasons. or maybe dozens. i dunno). but ill probably watch this one because of those two...
I'll probably tune in here and there for this season cuz of those two too.

If the viewership is down constantly, UFC should just get rid of TUF.

Haha. Always suspected this, now confirmed. DC changed his entire career, including risking his health to move down a weight class, to accommodate his friend, but the friend wouldn't hesitate to fight him to serve his own interests.

And I don't have a problem with Cain's attitude either. DC should've always been willing to fight him.
the funny/sad thing is cain won't fight much anyways
lets be real....he has had serious injuries back to back to back

if he comes back he will be like shogun lite....a great and dangerous fighter with a repaired/damaged body and amazing heart/will

It would be good if he was completely finished as then he would not hold up the division, but he does seem to have the ability to muster the strength for 1 good fight every three years. I predict he comes back, wins the title in his first shot as Dana is still obsessed with slapping a poncho on Cain to try and drag in the Mexican market but then he doesn't fight again for another 2 years, causing them to have another hijacked belt. And that's a serious prediction.

DC all damned day long, San Jose represent and all but I'd love for this to be another win for him.

Agreed decision, but he's got this locked down.

screenname bet, I've got Stipe? I'm guessing Stipe will be a 2 to 1 favorite, so I'll do a 2 month stretch to your one month, or more depending on what the opening odds are
I'll take that action.

DC will take this

DC was a beast at hw. They didn't call him the black Fedor just because he was black

He won't fight Cain so he won't stay at hw
If he's serious about retiring next year, I don't think Cain will be a stumbling block to DC having a heavyweight run. Given his injury record, I don't see the UFC being in a rush to give him a crack at the title anyway, so it might mean Cain has to put a run of 3 or more consecutive wins together before getting a shot after DC retires (should he win the title).

Daniel has the smile of a man who knows...

Daniel lost a lot of built up muscle cutting to 205 the first time. His gorilla back shrunk considerably. Not sure he has the core strength to fling Barnett like he once did. Not to say he isn't a beast, and will mail Stipe. But Stipe has been underrated and has a chip on his shoulder.

Great fight.
