I have to wonder if this is why Dana doesn't seem nearly as involved
as he used to be. For all the bad things about him the huge positive is
that he loved putting on awesome cards and hated bad fights.

WME it seems couldn't care less about putting together great cards
Purely a profit driven focus much like private equity and corporate vultures
classic method of operation

I have to admit WME sure fooled me. I woulda bet the the farm
that the Fertitas sold them a lemon and then got out of dodge.

The numbers speak differently though. Looks like they have
removed the correlation between great fight cards and profits.

The only people losing are the fighters and the fans
90% of fans thought $4b was insane
I was suspect
But once reports came out about who actually bought UFC (WME was not close to 50%) & I heard who else were part of the other bidders in that range, it made me get off my ass & learn more.
Once the excess spending of Lorenzo-era was cut & WME made new deals, they went up in value to $5b (9/17)
The owners that backed WME are worth a combined $80b
They know a bit more about a company's worth then the "UFC is dying" types that refuse to look at the hard numbers.

There are two types of people that post on forums IMO
1. The type that likes to discuss & learn from info
2. The type that has to be right, even if its obvious they are wrong

I don't deal with #2 - PUN INTENDED ;)

Dana is more involved than ever actually
WME do not make cards & I bet Ari does not know 25 fighters by face
Dana is more over-worked than ever because he is doing it all as far as BTS stuff
they cut his staff & Lorenzo is no longer there

As far as match-making, Joe Silva left at the end of 2016 (I believe) & that was a huge loss

"I bet Ari does not know 25 fighters by face". Without having your insight
my feelings tell me exactly the same. Now I'm depressed. Lol

Look what they are doing to my beloved UFC.

That year was about $620m, not $750m
But UFC will never be 50% & honestly shouldn't
They are still investing in growing. No major sport paid 25% in first 15-20 years."
NBA was founded in '46, unionized in '54. Can't find info on early profit share. Please post links? About & History - National Basketball Players Association

And to nit pick your statement further, since I don't like it and think is opinion presented as fact, the UFC was more than,15-20 years old in 2015.

100% correct, I should have said "I think", but since I do as lot of linking with factual info, most would understand (since I didn't) that it was just my thought process.
But, nice to see someone being so myopic that they don't comment on anything else I brought to the site & just one thing they can "nitpick" on (your term).
but as a troll, you are at least an intelligent one so that is better than most!

The issue that has blown me away since day 1 is fighters surrendering their image rights in perpetuity. I believe this is the item that John Fitch ultimately couldn't get past. The last thing any fighter should do is just toss his fighter rights over the shoulder like a crumpled burger wrapper for a waste basket, yet this is what fighters consistently do.
