I actually made this thread before UFC 200.
Jones went on not to test positive for any PED's in that case.
I have to side with nuthugger on this....let’s let the process complete the full journey before casting aspersions

and isn't testing positive for a masking agent the same as testing positive for the thing it masks?

just seems like you're splitting hairs. Masking agents are used to mask use of PEDs, so the punishment is the same. You're buying the 'I have a cocaine problem, but can't afford real boner pills, so I take fake generic boner pills" version of Jon Jones.

In both versions, Bones is...a cunt? sorry if that's fighter bashing. I respect him as an athlete who has achieved the pinnacle of the sport, while constantly beset by legal issues stemming from his personal and professional irresponsibility, while still demonstrating a pattern of entitlement and living beyond the rules, relying on his ability to lie and charm simpletons while making boatloads of cash for his employer, to continue in that lifestyle.

He messed up almost every question both he and his lawyer posed to him.
Seems he was not coachable and just would never say the things you would expect to try and minimize his punishment.
Too low IQ or too stubborn/self centered to do what is best for him...and that goes for the trial today and his PED usage...and even in ring antics to some extent.

At minimum he should have a a list of major changes he has made
with specific references. He should have had the perfect responses already

he first said it they signed a deal to never mention the amount of the buyout to avoid trial....did let slip that it was "Huge though" that sounded so bad to all in the room
later when asked what he had done to change himself....he slipped in the fact that he "paid over 1 million to the lady for that incident" so he had faced the consequences of every thing he ever did....I honestly don't think he realizes people go to prison for that type of incident

Yes, which makes me think it is in the $1m range, not $2m. He's not very bright, so I personally think if he could have stated over $5m, he would have done it, simply to show to the arbitrators he has been punished severely. I don't agree with the strategy, and if it were a client t of mine, would have advised non-disclosure completely. It seems Jon thought that a dollar amount was necessary to maximize perceived punishment. Not very bright.
