I hope they did get some DNA. The technology and techniques are so much better now. Even a tiny amount of an impartial profile can be amplified with good results. Not always, but it's pretty cool what they can do nowadays.
The last time they tried DNA had not evolved far enough that was able to separate DNA from other fluids like glue. They believe his DNA is on the envelopes and if they can isolate the profile, they can then go looking for suspects in police and public dna databases which they hadn't been able to do before. This is so exciting!

What if Graysmith was the Zodiac?

I thought the consensus was that it was actually two or three different killers
No I don't think so. However I can see how they zeroed in on AAL, he ticked alot of boxes. However it's likely zodiac is someone nobody ever looked at much like GSK and that is probably why it never got solved.

The Zodiac has always been a fascinating case to me. I'd love to see that one cracked and solved.

Rambo John J @Rambo John J i need to read more on Ed Ed. I don't know enough about him to form an opinion. I know the zodiac website guy doesn't think it's him, but I don't put much stock in that dudes opinion. I saw you post something about Eddie the other day, I need to find that again and do some reading. Even if it wasn't him, I think the killer is likely dead and gone.

Whoever it was, it'd be awesome to put this case to rest.
I read the book about Ed Edwards. It’s an insane and seemingly plausible possibility.

Sweet...I made it off of your ignore list! I've been really trying to put effort and thought into each post since I learned I was ignorable. Must be doing something right now, fuck yeah!

Thanks for the info, I would like to read up on this lead. With the Zodiac case, I'd almost gotten to the point of assuming it just may never get solved. But damn it would be awesome if they could definitively crack it. Even if the killer is dead, it'd be nice to know.

its weird...he links him to so many things..it gets deep...the sheer numbers make you uncertain..but he was a cold blooded genius sicko with quite a resume for sure
I don't think so.
have read anything about it? or did it just challenge your paradigm?

that is the first question everyone should ask before commentating on a researchers opinions

The sheer scope of his theory makes it seem improbable, but it is well researched and (in my limited knowledge) there is nothing he presents that seems impossible.
It’s like a possibility to me until someone disproves it.

I watched a short documentary about his alleged zodiac connection and it's just circumstanstial. Aurthor Leigh Allen was a better suspect evidence wise and even that was circumstanstial.

With Allen he can be heavily connected to the case with circumstantial evidence. With this Edwards person it's a very vague connection such that he could be in the California area at the time and he was known to target couples. Other than that it doesn't really give very hard evidence.

there is little hard evidence or this thread would not exist

I don't think it's him. Just look at how much circumstanstial evidence there was against Leigh and it ended up not being him. The evidence against Edward's is more so sparse and flimsy.
