Despite how people feel about them if its one thing both Chael and Ariel have proven
is that they both know how to attract and build an audience to make very popular shows.

I'll withhold judgement until the evidence shows otherwise.

You have Ariel who has a bland personality but is great at dates, facts and figures
and Chael who is all personality. On paper it seems like a great combo.

We shall see

I finally got a review from someone fair
They said it was set up as kind of a debate. They would pick a topic & go back & forth for 5 or so minutes.
First episode seemed forced as they would try to argue to be interesting rather than just talk MMA

I hope they find their groove, because I hate forced debate shows.
Debate if it is organic

Seems like they are trying to do a First Take kinda show. Not sure it works
for MMA

Exactly

Its one show in, so hopefully they tweek things as they go
I agree. ESPN knows how to do a sports show and Ariel and Chael know MMA
so my gut says they have all the pieces to make a great MMA sports show.

Also after watching that clip. It wasn't great but also not bad either.

Maybe it seems awkward because as hardcores we have never seen Ariel
do this kinda show and it just feels off to us.

Kinda like when your girlfriend cuts her hair and you don't like it cuz
you are used to seeing it another way

I just hate the forced debating
Also there is not enough in MMA to debate every week. Not like other sports where 30 teams are playing, trading players, etc.

If its that type of format, I'll skip it.

but its one ep in, so lets see in a year when UFC is on the platform

Yeah it just doesn't feel real.

Like you say its just one episode though and it could be just a small part
of the show. Maybe they only do that for a 10 minute round or something

The shitty MMA fans that see doom & gloom are already saying that ariel fucked up by going to ESPN, etc.

imagine thinking being the top MMA guy at ESPN when ESPN just committed to $1.5b to promote the sport is a bad decision & MMAFighting is better?
lol

Yeah LOL

It just shows people's own self doubt and negative inner thinking projected onto someone else.
If they knew how to make great decisions then Ariel would be sitting at home watching them
do their own sports shows and not vice versa

Sadly the timing of UFC/MMA rise coincided with the negative aspect of the internet becoming the norm.
People sign up on social media to troll others.
I don't get it, but its reality.
Then you counter with reality & they get mad & troll.

Good back/forth my man
