I might share a preview of the incredibly basic template if I can be bothered to explain some of the details so it makes sense, I'm fading and been awake 21 hrs now

using terminology from classic monopoly for description but I will be using custom names for the final product, and the preview has been resized, it's enormous in reality lol

I'm done updating this post, off to sleep again now, :)

||| WHITE = Raised frame "walls" with arrows to show the clockwise direction for the 1 way system.
||| BLACK = Non playable areas - Hotel & houses will be stored in the corners, cards in the centre.
||| LIGHT GREY = Station Platforms (large) and Station Entrances/Exits (small)
||| DARK GREY = Amenities like electric company, telephone company, water works + another one.
||| BROWN = Roundabouts where the one way system rule still applies.
||| PINK = Jail, Go to Jail, Pass GO and Free parking
||| YELLOW = Taxes (might mix them with DARK GREY amenities for variety)
||| GREEN = Cheap Streets and chance cards
||| BLUE = Expensive Streets and chest cards


but still smaller than the full size version

house/hotel tokens can push up against those walls so there's less chance of them being knocked off their street, I'm thinking of placing them like this so they as far away from the dice rolling as possible :) some things to consider though, if the dice smashes into them it could be confusing AF, but if I move those houses on the green streets near to the edge of the board we run the risk of knocking them off ourselves :p


the main reason that it's a potential issue is because of the second row of streets, but I did reduce the height on those as intended and hopefully the slightly raised walls will keep errant dice rolls in the centre :) could always triple layer the cardboard for the whole thing then cut out the centre square on 1 or 2 of those layers to create more of a bowl, but I'm a long way from making that decision

edit : going to use the triple layer idea to make inserts for the house/hotel pieces to slot into :) problem solved. Going to make the "walls" slightly thinner to regain some of the lost height for street tiles next, I don't want to start doing the fine pixel work until I'm sure I'm happy with the layout.

made the dividers thinner as intended and changed the layout a bit, much happier with it now.

I've been reading many of Disciplined Galt @Galt's threads as I build a list for the "chance" cards. Gold so far, 14 "stories" and counting.

If you're wondering where I've been I have basically quit tmmac again, but I do continue to work on the game because I am gravitating towards making board games now and this project is the closest to completion. I love you guys though, I always enjoy my stints here.

will be back from time to time to post updates (and I've updated the OP a bit)

If you make it too complicated....think of your users lol
it's not going to be as complicated as that advanced monopoly board that inspired the changes, I'm just stealing some of the features :)
