My wife is Brazilian but I've honestly never cheered for any Brazilian athlete or team before. I guess because of MMA, I've often found Brazilian athletes to be crybabies who always have an excuse ready when they lose, with very few exceptions (e.g. Lyoto Machida).
But I found myself rooting for Brazil last week against Serbia and was quite shocked. I guess I am so interested in seeing my wife happy that I root for her native country to win. Maybe I'm not the monster I thought I was?
Nah, there's gotta be an underlying self-serving reason for it...
