The only good acting he's ever done is running around and pissing all over the place in dancing with wolves.

It gets a ton of heat for being a colossal failure. It was very expensive to make and it did very poorly. It was Costner's baby so he took a lot of shit for it.
It's not a classic or anything, but it doesn't deserve the hate it gets. There are definitely worse movies out there
I've been watching it. It's a very good show. I'm not going to call it a GREAT show, but it's solid entertainment for sure.
Costner is underrated at this point. He was a big star for awhile but then kind of faded away in terms of people giving a shit about him. He proves in this show that he's still a fantastic performer, though.
I have always enjoyed a good Western--whether set in the old West or in the modern day--and so this show is right up my alley.
Occasionally the writing is a bit sketchy and leans too far into the melodramatic, and some episodes are weaker than others, but it is still the #1 show that I look forward to every week and the only show that I make sure to be on the couch and ready to go every Wednesday when it airs.
