MMA fans are very much a "what have you done for me lately" group of people. Stipe was the GOAT UFC HW before the fight started. More consecutive title defenses than any UFC champion in history!! The second he got dropped, they didn't even want toalk to him.

'The biggest fight in UFC history' is always the next one. He's right to be upset with how it went down, but if he's shocked then he's foolish.
He was never GOAT.

I understand why he is saying he wants a rematch, but that also effectively adds to the problem of clogging the division. Especially by first round KO,

Just give Blaydes a title shot and act like wins matter.

Or if Brock or DC drop out, they'll book the two legitimate top contenders for the Interim. So we always have that nugget in their formula.
