Rose Namajunas has said she would grant Joanna Jedrzejczykanother rematch if Jedrzejczyk admits that Namajunas is the best women’s strawweight fighter in the world.

Not going to happen, Jedrzejczyk said again Saturday night.

Jedrzejczyk, the former UFC women’s strawweight champion, defeated Tecia Torres by unanimous decision at UFC on FOX 30 here at ScotiaBank Saddledome. After losing the title to Namajunas last year and falling in the rematch at UFC 222 back in April, Jedrzejczyk is now back on the winning track — and she’s hell-bent on getting another shot at the 115-pound belt that she believes is rightfully hers.

If I was JJ I wouldnt say it under those stipulations either. JJ has made herself look like such a poor sport that this looks bad on her when it shouldnt.

And good on Rose for owning her like that.

I wonder if it was that attitude which helped her get to where she was when she was atop the division.

I remember Conor giving respect to and kudos to Diaz when he lost.
Lol, no.

He had a list of excuses, and then continued on to explain why the loss didn't matter and that he's still the best fighter in the sport. Now, he did manage to sandwich "Nate was the better man tonight" in there, but he most definitely wasn't humble in his defeat.

I agree.
If she admits she is not the best, than why keep fighting unless she is content with being a gate keeper. If you go in the cage thinking the other person is better, you have already lost, Just like GSP's first fight against Matt Hughes. Joanna needs to keep that mindset but also find a way to be respectful and professional in defeat.

If I understand you correctly, you're saying there's a difference between telling oneself they can be the best or being willing to fight to prove it and whatever she's now doing.

I wouldn’t admit it, either. Joanna earned that title by beating every top contender. Rose jumped past all of those contenders.

Meaning, while Joanna may no longer hold that title, Rose hasn’t earned it yet, either, because we don’t know how she’ll do against the other top fighters, some of whom she already lost to once before.
No I get you. She may not have the title of greatest women's strawweight of all time, she earned the title of best women's strawweight in the world today when she heat Joanna. Twice.
