Evangelista Santos isn’t a household name for UFC fans, but he owns a respectable fight history as one of MMA’s premier action fighters.

Whether it was slugging it out with Mauricio Rua in 2003 before he became a Pride fan favorite, slugging it out with Dutch kickboxer, Melvin Manhoef, or — you guessed it —slugging it out with Nick Diaz, Santos has seen no shortage on bonebreaking, headcracking fisticuffs. And that’s probably why he’s finally calling it a career.

It’s been two years since Evangelista Santos’ fight with Michael Page. Even if you don’t remember the fight, you probably remember the picture.

I don't see how anyone could come back from that. Worst injury I've ever seen in MMA.

Probably a smart move. I imagine there will probably always be a weak area there in his skull where that happened.

Hopefully he has a game plan for the rest of his life. Maybe a gym or teaching...

If I remember correctly, right after the injury happened he said he wanted to fight again in like 4 months. I am glad he's not risking it. His forehead cracked like a hard boiled egg when you drop it.

i'm surprised missionary sex with FemCyborg didn't fracture his skull first. seriously doe that skull fracture was brutal and one of the nastiest mma injuries in history.
