A legend who hasn't won a fight in 8 years? I can see UFC using that kind a legend to get another BJJ 'prodigy' out of the blocks. It's in the UFC's interest, to have a guy that they haven't given a fight to in over a year, to win over a legend?

If it where a more active fighter I'd tend to agree, however Hall hasn't been a blip on the screen of the UFC since winning TUF.... And I bet that the UFC will promote the return of BJ Penn over Ryan Hall's return.... I guess, watch the promo, if they talk up Hall a lot, than you know that they're building him up and using Penn as a stepping stone, if it's more Penn highlights, than you see where they're going with itA legend who hasn't won a fight in 8 years? I really Hope so. I dont think i could stand to see BJ getting throttled like he has his last 2 fights. This is actually a good match up for BJ...or at least I hope it is. Hall isn’t going to batter him striking and BJ’s grappling is just as good, if not better.
Me either man. That Siver fight made me sincerely sad.I really Hope so. I dont think i could stand to see BJ getting throttled like he has his last 2 fights.
You should t watch this fight. Hall is gonna beat the shit outta him. On the feet too.Me either man. That Siver fight made me sincerely sad.
I'm way more interested in seeing Ryan Hall than I am BJ Penn.
Where has that dude been?
I think there are just guys like he and Renzo who are fighters at their core. Win, lose, or draw, records be damned, these types will be willing to test themselves until the day they die. Hespect to that will.I’m curious as to what motivates BJ to continue? A title shot is clearly off the table. Money perhaps? Boredom? He’s a legend so I wish him well regardless.
BJ's striking has slowed and Hall's doesn't look very good period. It will likely be a plodding affair on the feet with Hall trying to pull a rolling upside down guard from way out of even kicking range, BJ dancing away then occasionally plodding forward with Hall shooting under the slow strikes at nothing.Even if it is a kickboxing match, who is the better kickboxer? I'm not sure how this is a bad matchup for Penn.... Hall is no spring chicken, has great BJJ (but so does BJ), and not nearly the striking skills..... Again, I'm a big fan of Ryan Hall the BJJ athlete, but I don't like this matchup for him the MMA fighter.

Also, BJ's level on the mat in an MMA fight is kind of a question right now. Hall will be the best grappler he's faced since Renzo, but in this case, he's Renzo and Hall is about where he was at.
