For his headlining role at UFC 229, McGregor made $3M in base pay but was rumored to have pulled in upwards of $50M after receiving a percentage of the Pay-Per-View sales. Nurmagomedov had a base salary of $2M and will have also received a cut of the PPV, though likely considerably less than McGregor. That was before Khabib throttled McGregor. Now that “The Eagle” has been victorious and become an international star, Abdelaziz says he deserves to be making the same kind of money, even if that means they have to rematch McGregor next.

“Listen, the guy we just fought said he made $50M,” Abdelaziz said. “I think, as a global superstar, Khabib bypass him. You have a guy meeting with Putin and Erdoğan and the other guy selling liquor on the corner store. It’s not even in the f**king same planet. Good for him. Whatever. It’s none of our business, he do what he does. We try to go to Africa, we try to do different things. It’s not even close.

“At the end of the day, maybe a whole bunch of money gets on the table, maybe the rematch. I don’t know. Maybe we’ll give a rematch to the guy we just killed. . . Whatever’s gonna bring Khabib money. This is now my job. It’s not Khabib’s job. Khabib created legacy, 11 years, 27 fights. Right now, money talks, bulls**t walks. That’s it.”

I hope this gets that last few remaining hardcores that think he fights for 'legacy" to see he (like everyone else) is a prize fighter.

Good for him for trying

if he rematches Conor, he deserves a lot of money & will get it in PPV
But to demand $50m to fight a guy like T-Ferg is hysterical
UFC won't make that in gross

yeah I don't particularly like Ali and when i read shit like that, it all makes sense.

maybe he is pretending to be thick as shit for money, but if not, he has to be pretty dense not to realise that khabib doesn't automatically make himself as big a draw as conor by beating him.

And I want a pornstar level slut as a wife who is completely faithful to only me but retains her sluttiness.

Never happens. Hope it does

Pretends to not care about money, then asks for 50 mill. Very strange.

If he continues to ask for 50 mill he will get stripped and shelved for the remainder of his prime years.

Is it about money? Yes
Is it about bending over the UFC? Yes

This is Ali's words not Khabib's and Ali is trying to get himself and his fighter the Biggest Cut possible.

He is not into being taken advantage of or disrespected and that is what I see...He is a bit insulted that Conor gets paid so much more than other fighters when he is an inferior fighter

Bit dishonest to push that he isn't fighting for "legacy", he is one of the most dedicated MMArtists we have seen to date. His dedication alone proves he is about Legacy, the $$$ is a byproduct of that.

Who did you pick in the fight Frankie?

Good cop, bad cop

I don't care about money. I want $50 MM to fight!

Posturing for McGregor hematch. Makes sense. They have all the leverage and they know it's a one and done biggest payday (unless Khabib loses).

my estimate is that a Khabib vs Ferguson fight could bring in 1,1-1,2 mil PPV... thats not enough to pay one athlete 50 mil. Even against GSP thats not possible cuz i doubt GSP fights for peanuts....I understand Ali wants to give Khabib some money before he retires but honestly i think its just Ali being greedy. Hes pricing Khabib out of fights that the fans wanna see. The way i see it now... Ali is the biggest threat for Khabis legacy... not Ferguson or GSP.

If it does that amount in PPV, I will be surprised.
It would take something big to happen leading up to presser

a 1m buy PPV brings in about $40m for UFC, so paying Khabib $50m is incredibly silly to even discuss publicly from his team.

yea i agree there isnt equity for such amount to be paid to a fighter. For me i cant see an athlete being paid 50 unless that card breaks 3 mil PPV and that aint happening.... i dont even think Khabib vs Conor 2 makes those numbers and even in that case u have 2 athletes to pay atleast 50 mil....good luck with that.

Does this mean Khalabeeb was only funnin' when he said the UFC could keep his 2 million?

I'm happy he's trying to make some money but he is cracking me up with the self righteous "Legacy Act"

Let's not confuse the notion of not being as effective with not being more entertaining

Not confusing anything...In his last 5 fights his in Ring performance was only entertaining against Alvarez...in the others he was rather ordinary

I don't find him more entertaining and top fighters likely feel the same

I do understand your point that he brings eyes and puts butts in seats/PPV...most of his current appeal comes from out of ring antics and even those were rather fake and forced against Floyd and Khabib

It is obviously all subjective, and Ali's comments are negotiating 101 as we know.

I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I truly enjoy watching him fight and truly detest his pre-fight interviews. Post-fight, he's usually pretty candid and respectful so I dig that.
Him willing to stand RIGHT in front of Khabib was very entertaining for me as an analytical fan, I thought it was ballsy as hell.
Him vs. Alvarez was what it was.
Him vs Nate were highly entertaining for me.
Him vs. Aldo was too short but he made it as entertaining as a man could in 13 seconds.
Him vs. Poirer was highly entertaining.

If I compare the entertainment value of his fights to Khabib's...
