Miesha Tate talks further about what urged her to move to Southeast Asia and work for ONE Championship as company Vice President.

Last week, former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate was the third ex-fighter to move to Southeast Asia and work for ONE Championship. But unlike Eddie Alvarez and Demetrious Johnson, “Cupcake” will take on a corporate function as Vice President, along with both a commentary and brand ambassador role for the Singapore-based promotion company.

During Monday’s episode of The MMA Hour, Tate discussed this career move in detail with Luke Thomas. According to her, it was mainly rooted to the drastic change of the UFC’s promotional style, which she no longer identifies with.

“I think the promotion has gone so far one way, that I don’t really…

this company sounds too good to be true all this crazy spending will probably have them go out of business like strikeforce and pride.

I don't see what she brings to the table for the organization.

I suspect there are ties to money here but deeply laid.

I concur might be some money laundering going on from ONE end or asset hiding.
I suspect that this is also the reason why Khabib's agent Ali, is given so much leeway with the UFC.

There is shady money behind some fighters he represents and the UFC wants access to the regions where it comes from.

I remember it as ufc buying them out and then promptly shutting down pride and strike force to eliminate the threat of competition and try to monopolize the market.

International name value (in the west).

They had to shut Pride down because those scumbags ripped the UFC off and gutted the company as the negotiations were happening, leaving them with nothing but the fight library and a few fighter contracts, essentially.

Strikeforce sold out because their chief investor wasn't seeing the returns he wanted to see, and everyone else had to follow suit. UFC kept them running for like almost a year after the buyout.

She identifies with the paycheck of One FC. Sounds like she begged them for this position.
