Holloway teed off on ‘T-City’ until doctors were forced to intervene and stop the fight in between the fourth and fifth rounds, earning a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus for his efforts.

‘Blessed’ handed Ortega his first ever professional loss and, speaking to the media at the UFC 231 post-fight press conference, the Hawaiian fan favourite said he would like to move up in weight and become the first man to beat Khabib Nurmagomedov inside the Octagon.

“Khabib is another undefeated fighter,” Holloway said, per MMA Fighting’s Marc Raimondi. “I got this niche, I guess. I just gave an undefeated…

There are a lot of intriguing fights at 155 for Max. Khabib, Ferguson, Gaethje, Lee, Barboza, and McGregor II. Any of those would be nuts.

or he could fight Frankie Edgar and Chad Mendes.

This new thing of defending once and then pretending you cleaned out the division is getting out of hand.

To his credit, he defended twice, and everyone else act 145 besides Max, Aldo and Ortega are three levels below imo

I think a move up would be fun, considering that at the current moment Frankie and Moicano are injured, Mendes is booked and 1-3 in his last four.

Do want to see the Frankie fight, believe Frankie can put on some strong showings and get right back in there.

One of those defenses was against the guy he won the title from.

You honestly believe Frankie Edgar is three levels below those guys?
Yes, but it was Aldo, who only ever lost to Max and Conor, still a legitimate defence imo.

I think 2018 Edgar is about maybe one or two levels below. Out of Max, Ortega and Aldo, Edgar's fought three times against two of those guys. Twice against Aldo in his prime where he lost a razor thin decision and then lost a very clear decision. The other against Ortega he got fucked up.

Edgar's a great fighter whose had one hell of a career, but nothing convinces me he will be a challenge for Max.

I could go for a fight with Frankie, but Mendes is pretty pointless honestly. Dude was suspended for 2 years and we all know Max would hurt him badly.

That's why we have fights. I saw things last night that definitely would have played to Edgar's favor.
Cool mate. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. I definitely wouldn't cry foul if they made a Max v Edgar fight next, but also wouldnt mind him moving him up.

We'll see how Mendes looks in his upcoming fight and go from there. You also have to remember that in the time it takes for Max to fight Frankie and maybe one other guy, it could very well be enough time for a new crop of contenders to come up.

I'm good with him moving up if he clears out the division while wearing the title. There are still a whole bunch of fights for him to have before anyone should be considering him the FW GOAT.

I want Blessed vs 209 (Nate Specifically) Cardio vs Cardio. Pressure and volume boxer
vs Pressure and volume boxer

I also find it intriguing that hardly anyone is thinking about Conor.

First real sign that C Macks star is dimming

Khabib can pressure through his strikes, put him down and keep him down.

Novel Idea: I just want to watch really good fights between two interesting fighters and could care less about king-of-the-hill championships and weight classes...

Of the suggested fights, Khabib is probably the most difficult match up for him. I like that he wants to try it.

Campaigning for a McGregor rematch seems most logical to me and I'd like to see that fight most.

We just watched a fight Max would likely have lost if Ortega had 1) better takedowns 2) could have maintained the pace Max was putting down. Frankie covers both of those bases.

I would pick khabib to win, but max does better than a lot of people think

max doesn't have the one punch power so khabib would be able to walk him down easier than he did to conor, who hits harder than max

BUT, max's takedown defense has gotten a lot better and he has a lot more heart and cardio than conor does, so I think he can weather the storm and make it interesting in the later rounds when khabib gets a bit more tired

I think max would do better against khabib than conor did, i say this fight goes to decision
