We're likely witnessing the end of Palhares' career. He's 38 now and has only one win in his past six fights (and one no contest). He got TKO'd today in his fight in Russia, after getting KO'd in his last fight in Russia.

BTW, Thiago Silva lost by armbar to his Russian opponent on the same card.

He should probably stick to grappling tournaments at this point. No need to take head trauma for the fuck of it.

Thiago isnt a bad guy he just had some problems with a bjj guy fucking his chick. I could understand it. He should have never brought the pistole though. Popovich would have pretzeled him in the parking lot.

Ive trained with popovitchs team and heard the story firsthand.

Also a friend of mine was on house arrest for trafficking and looked outside and seen the swat team mobilizing for thiagos house when he wasnt coming out. My friend lived like 6 houses away and thought they were raiding his house again and flushed like 5k worth of coke and weed and called his lawyer which made me laugh for days. Then we found out it was thiago and laughed even more

Both?

I can understand the Paul Harris hate but the only thing I can think about Thiago Silva is back when his crazy ex falsely accused him of shit that later came out to be untrue.

Unpopular opinion: I've always liked Paul Harris. Every fight you can be pretty confident something fucked up is going to happen and he was the grappling version of a prime Cro Cop. Just destroyed guys and there was a level of intimidation you don't see with other grapplers.

Definitely deserves some of the hate, but a couple of the 'holding on' incidents were also completely overblown. Guy clearly is a different breed - grew up in a hut, looks like a cartoon character - but that's what makes him so entertaining.

He's been blackballed from most tournaments due to his instability. Guys won't fight him there because he's too much of a risk (Hector Lombard is the same way.... The only two guys I know who have handlers with them, two intervene when they snap and attack like a rabid pitbull).

I was a huge fan of Rousimar's leg attack prowess in MMA, and his competition success was awesome, but there's less risk of permanent damage in grappling an Ebola patient with open sores than him. The stories I've been told about him by guys who trained at BTT back in the day... They said he'd snap and stay on a submission to the point where Murilo Bustamante and others would come and pry him off of people like there were reffing old IVC events.

It has been a good week for Thiago Silva.

Not only did the heavy-handed light heavyweight have all the charges against him dropped, which stemmed from a police standoff with Florida cops earlier this year (details), but he also got his job back with Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

Something Dana White vowed would never happen on the heels of the incident.

During a recent interview on MMA Hour (via MMA Fighting), Silva refused to go into detail of what happened that night, but did finally open up enough to say that all of his recent legal woes were a result of being set up by his ex-wife, who was bitter because he refused to give her any money after he asked for a divorce.

His words:

"Here the thing. I didn't do nothing. She said I pointed a gun at her, I tried to hurt her. I didn't point any gun, I didn't try to hurt her, you know? I wanted divorce, she wanted money, I didn't want to give the money, she set me up, that's the truth. I just wanted the divorce. I didn't want to stay with the girl anymore. She wanted a lot, she asked for a lot of money to sign the divorce. I said no, she set me up.

According to Silva, his stint in jail was spent in isolation and away from the rest of the general population, as he was considered a danger to other inmates.

As far as getting cut by UFC, Silva says he never had any hard feelings toward the company or Dana White, saying that he would have probably done the same thing.

That's it. I think if I was in his position, I would've done the same, because he didn't know what's going on. So I didn't blame him. I had to be patient... because I knew the truth. Like I said, I had to be patient. There was nothing I could do. You gotta be patient. You don't want to think stupid things, you know? If you know the truth, you know the truth is going to come out. It's very simple."

He concluded:

"The truth is they didn't find no proof. I never pointed any gun at my ex-wife, I never tried to hurt (her). Everything she said was a lie. So that's the truth. The state, they couldn't prove another thing, so that's the truth. I'm just glad the truth came out.[The UFC] trust me, they knew I didn't do nothing, so they gave me my job back. So I'm very glad for this."

Thank you. This defiantly changes things, and I'm glad to read this. He's coming back to the ufc, then why did he fight there? Is this loss change his comeback to the ufc?

I do not know why he said he was coming back to the UFC. I just know he was cleared of the charges.
