I'm not sure its pressure. I think they just don't give a shit about MMAThat card does 200-300k. You would have Cyborg-Nunes as the main event anyway as that would draw more than Gus-Anderson. With Jones on there it could do 600-800k. That's a big difference.
WME clearly is still under pressure with loan repayments, hence why we see desperate moves like this.
Danus and co, not their bosses. Bosses simply demand that certain revenue targets are hit, and their underlings have to scramble to meet them. I'm sure Ari would be kept in the loop about what's going on with Jones too. Jones is the 2nd biggest star in the company.I'm not sure its pressure. I think they just don't give a shit about MMA
None of them are even going to be at the event. Hell they have probably forgotten about it already
Self-serving but 100% accurate. USADA has shown its hand - there are 3 options here: 1) they are corrupt, 2) their entire system is based on junk science and arbitrary nonsense or 3) both of the above (this is the correct answer). There is no possible way to argue for a 4th option.
That’s an airtight tweet and talking point.
As should Tom Lawlor!!That’s an airtight tweet and talking point.
They should have to compensate Mir for ruining his career.
Mir should sue them.
no way Frank wrote that. no way Frank fucking Mir gets his apostrophe in the right place in that penultimate sentence. NO WAY
Frank has been working on the intricacies of details of language maneuvers that you still don’t even know the names of.no way Frank wrote that. no way Frank fucking Mir gets his apostrophe in the right place in that penultimate sentence. NO WAY
HAHA holy shit that's good!Frank has been working on the intricacies of details of language maneuvers that you still don’t even know the names of.
Oh I have no doubt it’s about money (although 800k seems like rather a stretch). Is the blow to their credibility really worth this though? They’ve never straight up given a pass for a blown drug test before, and the only time I’ve heard Dana White or anyone even defend someone at all over a failed test was for marijuana. Now they’ve not only given a pass, but commission shopped 6 days before the fight and adversely affected the 23 other fighters on the card, their corners, and thousands of fans who bought tickets and made plans to come to Vegas between Christmas and New Years. That card does 200-300k. You would have Cyborg-Nunes as the main event anyway as that would draw more than Gus-Anderson. With Jones on there it could do 600-800k. That's a big difference.

Aka
If joe doesn’t go hard at the snitch and ask about Lawlor, Mir and the potential for lawsuits and liability it’ll be fully apparent that the UFC paid him off.Don't sweat it guys! Joe Rogan and Jeff Novitsky are gonna get to the bottom of this. Completely unbiased of course!

I thought it was already obvious that the UFC pays them both? I doubt Joe will get into anything uncomfortable, though I'm sure Joe is honestly thinking Jeff's word is good enough, which we should all know by now is complete and utter BS.If joe doesn’t go hard at the snitch and ask about Lawlor, Mir and the potential for lawsuits and liability it’ll be fully apparent that the UFC paid him off.
You might be right about the loan as I don't know the current status. I am using circular logic - WME doing desperate shit must be because they are desperate - but the 'retard hypothesis' - WME do retarded shit because they are retarded - is an equally valid guess.Oh I have no doubt it’s about money (although 800k seems like rather a stretch). Is the blow to their credibility really worth this though? I also thought they were past the point of built-in financial incentives from their lenders for fast loan repayments but I could totally be wrong on that. Either way, WME is a clown show.
Joe was paid off a long time ago regarding JuicyIf joe doesn’t go hard at the snitch and ask about Lawlor, Mir and the potential for lawsuits and liability it’ll be fully apparent that the UFC paid him off.
I don’t think you should go, bruv. It’s really unbelievable. I joke about now being able to go to the event but it’s pathetic and I almost feel dirty wanting to go. This was my fear basically happening at ufc 230 in Nyc. I feel terrible for the thousands of fans getting completely fucked by this decision.
immediate payoff maybe? Dana is WME bitch now instead of Lorenzo's BitchWhat I don’t understand is why not just move the Jones fight to headline 233? Cyborg vs Nunes with rest of card was plenty solid and Jones/Gus likely does most possible damage to Bellator Fedor/Bader
its a direct quote from Daniel Eichner.I like @Dim but he's way, way off on this.
I'm not going to go into details, I'll just say that this tweet is inaccurate.
