Looks more BMW than Toyota for sure, way too expensive for what it will compete against, and the final nail is no manual transmission. It's doesn't appear to be a "numbers" car and who wants a driver's car with an auto? Total fuck up IMO. I'd honestly rather turbo a BRZ, looks better, is cheaper and manual.

The best thing about the Supra was that it's engine was crazy overbuilt and you could get insane power out of them without tearing into the bottom end. Will these new BMW engines be as stout?

All these BMW engines smoke your old Supra bullshit. We have reached an age where cars can cost 100k apart and not go any faster

Believe me, the 2jz doesn't do 700hp on stock rod bolts for more than a few runs.

Now if you're talking stock block, the toyota 1FZ and Nissan TB48 are the future but kind of hard to find.

Plenty of BMW inline sixes making 1200+hp out there but the more modern engines from toyota, nissan, and BMW aren't overbuilt like they used to be and require things like sleeves and high strength rotating parts.

It remains to be seen if toyota is smart enough to deliver a car with an engine that is overbuilt enough so that even the simplest morons can unlock big horsepower as in the 2jz.

Me? We run 3000hp on the street with full interior and A/C, stereo....etc. but we're running a destroked 5.4 liter DOHC ford engine.

I'm the guy flagging and working on the boost management system on this one.

It's hard to wave a flag and not look like a pansy so I did the "mark hunt walkoff" flag wave.

That’s because you have to point at the driver, take a drag from your cigarette, and do a dramatic hand drop. Jesus is it your first time around cars?
