It was an early stoppage. TJ was fully aware and scrambling
I like the idea of a rematch but do it at 135
Said he'd give TJ an immediate rematch and do it at 135 next time.Ha ha. Didn't see it, but did Cejudo start talking about his own greatness and what a special person he is like he's doing the voiceover for a movie about himself? I can't really sit through that guy's interviews.
Cmon you lost
Lol. Always concentrate on the fight in front of you.
This is completely melodramatic. Even if you believe it was early, which is a reasonable opinion, there's worse stoppages on almost every card - arguably even this one.Terrible stoppage
If the majority of fights ended that way I’d stop watching the “sport”
What was a worse title fight stoppage? Also I said a majority not a random fightpass prelim. This is completely melodramatic. Even if you believe it was early, which is a reasonable opinion, there's worse stoppages on almost every card - arguably even this one.
Fair enough on the 'majority of fights' call but you've completely moved the goalposts on the title fight question. What was a worse title fight stoppage? Also I said a majority not a random fightpass prelim.
Not a big deal but Ken/Tito 2 wasn’t a title fight. Barao/Fabre is definitely a close choice. This was a champ vs champ fight and I thought the ref was looking to step in way to quickly. This is not Cain vs JDS. These are 2 flyweights. Let them fight it out to a clear finish imoFair enough on the 'majority of fights' call but you've completely moved the goalposts on the title fight question.
Off the top of my head Tito-Ken 2 and Faber-Barao 2 maybe? Obviously title fights are going to be very rare because there are so few of them. And I made the point in the other thread that people tend to forget early stoppages in time.
The fact is this is TJ's 2nd 'early' stoppage loss, and the first one was arguably worse. Refs get jumpy when you get dropped twice in quick succession and always have. He puts himself in those positions by standing up rather than recovering on the ground in guard - flailing around is clearly not a good strategy for not getting stopped.
I would've liked to see it go on a tad longer but I fundamentally disagree that a guy needs to be completely put out for it to be a good stoppage. Not a big deal but Ken/Tito 2 wasn’t a title fight.
