What a fucking shit show.

Ottawa paid close to top dollar for Trans Mountain pipeline, spending watchdog says
Canada’s parliamentary budget watchdog says the Liberal government paid the “sticker price” when it bought the Trans Mountain pipeline from Kinder Morgan for $4.4 billion.

Parliamentary Budget Officer Yves Giroux estimates the Trans Mountain pipeline and planned expansion project are worth between $3.6 billion and $4.6 billion.

This means government’s purchase price of $4.4 billion was at the high end of the project’s total calculated value.
“If it was a car, we would say they paid sticker price, they didn’t negotiate very much, they didn’t get that many deals or manufacturers rebates — quite the opposite,” Giroux told reporters Thursday morning.

and remember, you're paying for it twice.
Dont forget his opinion on the pipeline.

How bout that pipeline?

How bout Alberta's response?

Feds done fucked up big time.

Smart move by the BC govt to oppose it from the start.
The smart move would have been to cooperate in order to get the pipeline built, instead of cutting off your nose to spite your face. As much as Horgan and Notley are on the far ends of their ideology and tend to lock horns, they are under the same banner. There is much more motivation for them to come to an agreement.

Jason Kenney is out to make a name for himself and it isn’t going to be by cooperating with the NDP leader next door.

Isn't EVERY single person washroom gender neutral?

o_O
There is an analogy there on their priorities. We are talking about a group of people that complain about high gas prices and oppose the oil industry in the same breath. They also cry about the environmental effects of tanker traffic while they pour their shit and piss directly into the sea.

That is the type of person we are expecting to sit down with and come to a consensus (while they conduct a gender impact study on our dime).

The shit show is people letting their ideology get in the way of the greater good or what they claim their ideology to be. That pipeline was going to facilitate China switching over to cleaner burning natural gas from coal. Now China is doubling down on coal. It's nimbyism at it finest.

Remove the provincial politics and personal bias and the purchase was still a shit show.

A billion dollars? How many tax paying Canadians do we have? 18 million tax payers. Over on average, $50 out of each tax payers pocket was over paid to this pipeline?

That’s the issue with your logic. The provincial politics can’t be removed because we don’t live in a vacuum. BC’s resistance to the pipeline was a major factor in the shit show.

You really need to branch out from the typical ‘you’re drunk’ reply. You have done it to death.

To be honest, your opinion on any subject is a maximum of three lines when you aren’t parroting someone else’s point of view.

As was pointed out to you. Provincial politics created the shit show.

This.

Horgan came out in opposition long before the federal ruling.
“The British Columbia New Democrat platform promises to use "every tool in the toolbox" to stop Kinder Morgan's Trans Mountain pipeline expansion from going ahead. But what are those tools? NDP Leader John Horgan isn't saying.” May 4/2017

B.C. NDP vows to fight pipeline, but won't say how

Federal court quashes Trans Mountain expansion; Ottawa forging ahead with purchase Aug 30/2018

He is still opposed to the pipeline...

B.C. premier continues to fight, says ‘it does not matter who owns the pipeline’

Meanwhile, he is failing to grasp the intricacy around the oil issue and wants the feds to help change his diapers.

B.C. Premier Horgan calls on Ottawa to investigate province’s high gas prices

Did I mention that the BC government is invested in the very company that was in charge of the project that they are trying to stop?

You really can’t make this up. Of course, Gusto’s eloquent response will be to accuse me of being drunk. Like today, when I mentioned Vancouver Island residents dumping raw sewage into the ocean, as if I was making it up.

Vancouver Island residents are not the stewards of the environment that they claim to be.

Jason Kenney, Rachel Notley hone attack lines on eve of election window opening | CBC News

As Alberta's election window opens, Premier Rachel Notley and rival Jason Kenney honed their attack lines in duelling speeches Thursday and warned of dire consequences should the other side win.

"The choice ahead is the starkest Albertans have faced in decades. A choice for how we build the future and a choice for whom that future is built," Notley told cheering supporters at a noontime NDP rally in Calgary.

"Are we building a province for the many or the few?"

——
Unfortunately for the NDP, they won’t have a say in building the province again for a long time. They didn’t run it into the ground like the UCP claim, but the investor confidence will simply not be there until they are gone. They are so behind in polls that they have re-branded, focusing on Notley, due to the fact that she is closer in polls to Kenny than the NDP is to the UCP.

UCP criticizes NDP branding, political scientist says focus on Notley 'makes perfect sense'

The industry is in a holding pattern right now waiting for the change. UCP has their ear, as their relationship has remained strong despite not being in power. It could be a busy shutdown season as the big four (Suncor, Syncrude, CNRL, Nexen) will probably announce projects quickly into Kenney’s premiership, as he has promised as much deregulation as possible.

A lot of people quickly regretted their NDP vote last time, and they are coming out in droves to make what they feel are amends. The rest of the country would have been better off dealing with Notley. Get used to this face, Freeloading Rusty @MC Gusto ! The literal face of “androcentric patriarchy” coming to shut down our public school, gay/straight alliance groups in the name of Jesus Christ....

Is that actually a consideration?

All options are on the table, including a referendum over royalty rates and the Carbon Tax.

It seems drastic, but it’s time for drastic measures. We are trying to get shovels in the ground to benefit all of Canada. A little help would be nice, as you all have your hands out when the cream is shared.
