EGYPT! See the temples, enjoy the history, sail the nile. wear kevlar.

On a serious note, I've heard Cuba is a fucking blast.

Or for europe, Prague is goddamn gorgeous with beautiful architecture and history and the beer is cheap.

Plus, home to one , if not the worlds largest castle.

I've heard Romania is great aswell
Is that the castle they show at the beginning of the kink.com videos? A co worker was looking over my shoulder when I checked this thread and wants to know.

We absolutely loved Prague!!! It's so close to all the other countries too. We did a giant griswold-like road trip and hit a bunch of cities. You can skip Bratislava. What is the name of those sweets/rolls made of bread that they sell next to the astrological clock? They cook them over an open flame on a wooden roller. Can't find them in the US.

I don't smoke meth very often but if it's what the doctor orders I'll hook you up. Unless I am dead or in jail I'll likely still be here.

I've got 2 weeks in April.
Taking a trip with me, my wife, and a couple of our friends. 4 total. 2 couples.
We've all traveled internationally together before.

Goals -- eat and drink too much.
Good exchange rate for USD.
Not in the US. ( We can find one week for domestic trips other times. Trying to take advantage of the 2 weeks with a more extended trip. )

What's been a good trip that time of the year?
We were considering going back to Thailand, but other than ISIS trying to blow up Russians in the near future (fo real) April is hot as balls in Thailand. So kind of rethinking that.

I see Team Bisping @Gilbosh running around China. That might be good.
South America and Eastern Europe are on the radar as well.

What do?
Adelaide Australia

Or your dead to me.

I'm not really a world traveller but last October me and the gf took a small European trip. 6 days in Ireland, 5 in Rome and 5 in Berlin. I really loved Dublin but I have to say both of us really fell in love with Berlin. Amazing sights, history (ok... some history not so amazing haha...), the people were amazing, just about everyone speaks great English, and the cost is very cheap compared to other major cities. Amazing city to walk around in.

Rarotonga (Cook Islands), it's an awesome spot.
Bulk of the time on the mainland, then jump out to aitutaki for something truly special.

True island styles.
No wanky tourists
No cashed up bogans
Drive around the island in 40 mins on a scooter
Probably should've messaged you but fuck it.

Anything else you can tell me/us about the Cook Islands?

Gf and I are planning to to NZ again in Dec/Jan to spend xmas with her family for about 4 weeks. But we both wanna head over somewhere exotic for one of those weeks and Cook Islands is at top of our list, pretty much for the things you said (no wanky tourists, bogans etc).

Disclaimer - Fiji is always top of my list. I 100% recommend Likuliku resort in the Mamanuca Islands.

Rarotonga (Cook Islands) is great for a holiday where you "can do stuff", and also relax.
We stayed at the Rarotongan Beach Resort when I last went.
Bikes, village, snorkel, fish, scooter around the island, resort hopping etc. there is plenty to keep you occupied, if that's what you want.
It's a good sized island, and there is lots to see and do.
Go to Trader Jacks for a drink or three.
Watch out for the fa'afafine.
Getting a drivers licence is funny. You need a scooter to do the test, but they won't rent you one unless you have a licence (go figure!). Get the resort you are going to stay at to organise one for you.
They use NZ notes and their own coins.
The mountain in the middle of the island is incredible.
It's bloody hot, and you will burn.
Definitely go to Aitutaki for at least one night. It is well worth the cost and effort. (It's a short flight on a tiny plane).
Muri Lagoon - organise a tour or fishing.
There are two buses - clockwise and anti-clockwise. They get really full, and if they are too full they will not stop.

Nice mate. Thanks heaps!

Fiji was one of a few places we were considering, but we both think Cook Islands seems to be the most idyllic of them all, perhaps because of how isolated it seems to be. Definitely going to do a bit more reading and looking at accomodation choices etc. Cheers again bro

BJTT_Kiwi @BJTT_Kiwi i just read that Cook Islands is like 22 hours behind NZ. That true? How badly does that fuck the body clock up if travelling from NZ??

Easy... there’s only 2 hours difference.

It’s exactly the same time difference when I travel from Sydney to Auckland.
Slightly harder to get up in the morning for a day or so, but nothing major.

22 hours just sounds bigger, as you cross the date line getting there from New Zealand.

10am in Auckland is midday in Rarotonga (it’s just “the day before”).
