I learnt to play as a kid, was never very good but had a knack of frustrating more gifted opponents and having long drawn out games that often ended in stalemate. I revisited the game after a few decades last year and started to play on Chess.com, I watched youtube tutorials, chess documentaries, read about strategies, and studied the game quite a bit, and got up to an 1100 rating for a short time, then I stopped studying and practicing and only played once in a while, and now I'm down to 310. I just played a game right now against a 220 and for some reason they abandoned the game and handed me a win. I needed that win for my shitty record.

No way man, not at the moment. Tonight was my first game in months and I won by abandonment. That bumped from from like 290 to 310. I need to do the chess equivalent of some Rocky IV training in the Russian snow before I play anyone here. Plus it's been a long day, and I'm intoxicated.

I play occasionally. I have a rating in the 1500-1600 range...which is really not that strong among hardcore chess players. But I love the history of the game.
I did a bit of chess tutoring at an elementary school for a while but most of the kids were too young and didn't pay attention. It turned out to be more like day care.
Plus kids in the 10 year old range fart a lot. It's no fun walking through an unexpected cloud of stench as you fulfill your duties.
