I'm only guessing, but maybe he knows that he got caught (i.e. wont be able to have a good excuse) and is expecting to be out for at least a year or two. The logic could be "better to relinquish than be stripped".

I've done this exact same joke a thousand times on TMMAC.
I don't give the slightest fuck about nationalism but I do get annoyed that every single time a brazilian gets caught with PEDs the "juicy brazilians" narrative gets played out but when other people get caught with PEDs their naionality is not taken into account.

I read on facebook he got a 1 year suspension from the New York athletic commision, no word of usada sanction yet, but I imagine the NSAC will uphold the New York suspension.

This seems to be a pattern. Emperically, I feel like a strong majority of guys who get caught LOSE the fight they get caught on. Needs verification - just my gut on this.
Everyone is talking about steroids, but my initial thought was this is going to turn out to be a diuretic or something to assist with his flyweight cut.
That being said, where there is smoke there is usually fire and Cody certainly seemed confident when throwing TJ under the bus for what he allegedly witnessed previously.
