Which may have worked out for the dog.
Maybe it did work out in the dog's best interest. But it wasn't without Frank getting on his flight knowing the dog was tied in the back of the truck, where it remained for FIVE DAYS. So it just as easily could have been a slow death for the dog. Did you read Frank's assessment of his mother's pet? "It’s an old dog – no one wants a 6 1/2, 7-year-old dog with a goofy hip.”

He knew the risk he was running by abandoning that animal at the airport. That's low.

He says he called every shelter within 200 miles, but did he really? We can't be certain. I wonder if every ASPCA/Human Society location really did turn him away.

It sounds like Frank did what he could and when pressed for time was like, "Fuck it. I'll leave the dog here and maybe some will find her...or maybe not."

It doesn't really sound out of character for Frank. I'm not sure what kind of person you guys thought he was previously...

Did you guys read the article?
It sounds like it wasn't even his dogs and the options were either putting the dog down, or risk it advertising him on Facebook. Which may have worked out for the dog.
"According to the report, Shamrock was in Dallas to help his mother move. A post on Facebook on March 2 said he was seeking a home for his mother’s two dogs. One was taken in, but Shamrock claims no shelter would take Zelda, who now reportedly is in the custody of Dallas’ animal control division." help! Can anyone take a dog today in Dallas Texas?” Shamrock posted on Facebook. “My mom has to give her dogs away as she can’t care for them anymore. We will be at Dallas Love Field AirPort by 4pm and flights at 5pm. Dog lovers please help Zelda is a great guard dog and she has protected my mom for years. I have called every shelter and no kill pet center within 200 miles. Now I have to fly home and need some help.”
it was irresponsible, and cruel to the animal.

so that's what they're investigating. IMO, based on facts he admits, he should be charged.

I remember that scene with his brother. What other bits do you recall from his book?

I always found him an interesting character. I even wrote a pilot sit-com episode about hi, Ken, and Tito.

but seriously, give us some dirt
The part about him sucking people off is a particular weird bit

Sounds like confirmation of guilt:

For MMAPlaywright @MMAPlaywright

His story is shit.

There were 3 dogs, gave one away, tied one in a truck. ....

He called security and people were with the dog. It was scanned on day 3 and he was called but no one got the dog until day 5...

Now I'm not saying that he's full of shit and that his story doesn't add up but...

He's full of shit and his story doesn't add up.

Thankfully we've got a happy ending for the abandoned dog in question. And sounds like Shamrock's going to face a charge, which will probably result in a fine or something but better than nothing, I guess.

SPCA of Texas:

"We’re ecstatic to say that within minutes of becoming available for adoption, Zelda, was adopted!! Her new family had a Pet Alert set up for a 6- year-old Labrador Retriever. As soon as they saw her online they came right over for a meet and greet. They fell in love with her instantly and decided to make her part of the family! Zelda’s going to be adored and pampered for the rest of her life and we couldn’t be happier for her!!

Here’s a recap of Zelda’s story. On March 8, a 7-year-old Labrador mix named Zelda was transferred to the SPCA of Texas. This pup made national news after she was abandoned and left tied up in the bed of a pickup truck at Dallas Love Field Airport by UFC fighter Frank Shamrock. The SPCA of Texas was awarded final custody of Zelda on March 18.

We want to thank everyone who has been calling the SPCA of Texas to check in on Zelda. Her foster family says she is a friendly, affectionate girl and is in good spirits despite the recent event she’s been through. Zelda is in good health and we are excited to announce she is ready to start looking for her forever home!

The investigation against Frank Shamrock is ongoing. The Dallas Police Department expects to file a charge of Cruelty to Non-Livestock Animals for “abandoning an animal without making reasonable arrangements for assumption of custody by another person,” a Class A Misdemeanor."
