Kids, this is why it is dangerous to lodge your head too far up your own ass: You start talking complete shit.

Fuck Watching That Version: Luke argues that the weirdest thing about Dillashaw using EPO was that you can completely replicate EPO by training at altitude and sleeping in chambers like cardio posterboy BJ Penn.

I'm generally with Luke in the sense that I don't give a toss about fighters juicing. But holy fuck this is dumb. It's literally one of the dumbest arguments I've ever heard and thus it needs its own thread.

Apparently Lance Armstrong could've just rode on some mountains and shit, instead of concocting an elaborate EPO doping scheme. Why didn't he think of that?

Luke likes talking, but his talking isn't that great anymore. After I heard him doing 'rrrrradio guyyyyyy' voice on some show I stopped listening to his talking.

Looks like Luke isn't completely making it up.

Sciencey version:

The Effects of Altitude Training on Erythropoietic Response and Hematological Variables in Adult Athletes: A Narrative Review

Layman's version:

Replicating thin air

Obviously injecting is a way to keep dem gainz going more sustainably than climbing Everest.

So he gave up without even giving it a night to sleep on it, deny it and fight the public battle the USAda penis loving perverts and making them the villains.....
Instead he immediately gave you his belt, hit quickly slapped with a 2 year ban, accepted it and said “see ya in 2 years”
I wonder if this will hurt his gym payments that he was getting for leaving team alpha triple beam scale male camp

According to Luke, a guy who trains at 'Elevation Fight Team', which happens to be located in a city at high altitude, didn't realize that you could gain the same effects from altitude training and a relatively inexpensive tent that you could from synthetic EPO usage. Weird, huh? That's real bad luck for TJ. If only he knew.

I used to mountain bike with a guy that competes at the pro level. He was using EPO for several years. It absolutely works, he was a goddamn machine on that stuff. I mean, he is an incredibly talented athlete without EPO, but it absolutely helped him push the limits of endurance. There is no suffering on EPO.

I know some folks hate him on here but I don't mind him. I do think he's wearing himself thin these days. The wife and were just commenting on how he talks about MMA for what must seem like 8-10 hours a day, EVERY. FUCKING. DAY. Eventually that turns into words and more words to fill in the time and get those YT videos out. Watch his comparison of Max Holloway and Marvin Hagler to see how over worked he seems.

Basically what Luke is doing in this debate is taking up the same position as an anti-vaxxer, even though he thinks he's being clever.

He uses the absence of irrefutable scientific 'proof' and total, absolute, scientific consensus - a standard that a non-retard would never require scientific evidence be held to - as justification for his outlandishly stupid argument.

He's conflating legitimate concerns with anti-doping, for which I usually support him, with an open and shut case. And that completely undermines his credibility.

People who use EPO think it gives them an advantage. Most scientific studies suggest that it imparts benefits that can't be gained through normal altitude training. There are serious, scientifically-based, legitimate concerns that it is dangerous, even if there is no irrefutable evidence that it is. For that reason, it is banned.

And the best part? Even if Luke is ultimately justifiably skeptical that it is not performance enhancing or dangerous - you have to be deliberately cheating under the rules to take it. Which means anyone sanctioned for it was never a victim.

Even though I'm the angry nut who started this thread, I'm not a 'hater' - a lot of the time I agree with him. That's actually the problem here.

I'm usually right there with the cunt, pointing out what a piece of shit organisation USADA is and how terribly inadequate some of the science involved is.

So this is like finding out that you're part of a political party that you think has good policy platforms but then your public spokesman comes out and says "our main policy objective is to kill all kittens and make fucking underage Antelopes legal."
