Conor McGregor’s fighting career is currently on hold, with no real indication about a possible return. Even long-time head coach John Kavanagh isn’t privy to his superstar fighter’s current affairs.

But if there’s one thing that the SBG Ireland mentor is certain about, it’s that “The Notorious” has not stopped training. In a recent interview on RTÉ One’s The Late Late Show, Kavanagh is expecting to touch base with McGregor soon to discuss future plans.

“He’s just back from the States; he was in Miami for the last few months training,” Kavanagh said. “I had a small amateur show on Friday night and he showed up. I didn’t even know he was going to be there,…

Be interesting to see what he looks like once he returns, but he's never beating Khabib. Just a horrible match up for him. I'd like to see him vs Gaethje, or Ferguson.

I don’t believe there is a huge amount of passion to take the hits and injuries that come along with a lesser payday than boxing

Who cares?

If he ever returns he'll either be crushing cans or getting his ass beat if he takes a real fight.

Honestly don't understand the continuing fascination w this guy. He was a somewhat interesting manufactured spectacle for a bit, but that time has LONG passed.

The continued hate for Conor is hilarious. What he does outside the cage has no impact on my life. The guys never been in a boring fight and has wins over Holloway, Poirier, Aldo and Alverez, all current/former champs. To doubt his skillset as a fighter is ridiculous. I don't understand why anyone takes a shot at him for losing to Mayweather or use it to make his "losing streak" seem so bad, two loses in the UFC and one he got back. I hope he finds his way back to the cage and keeps on fighting. Lots of good match ups for him. Having wins over Holloway and Poirier already the potential rematches would be great.

I don't see much hate in this thread

and if he is raping people and paying them off and blasting out racists comments I think it is OK for some to think he is a POS and factor that into how much they enjoy or want to see him fighting...to each their own

you are correct he is a helluva fighter and has lots of exciting matchups ahead if he can get his shit together

Like to always point out Joe’s passion for the word “underrated”. Underrated ground game, underrated clinch, etc etc. The best, of course, was when he was doing his damnedest not to say Maia has an underrated jiu jitsu game. “People know he’s one of the best, but I don’t think they know how good he really is!”

God I love these! Never get tired of them along with "expert mma fan" quotes that usually occur in a shitty bar somewhere usually.
