I think the Twins might take the AL Central this season. Cleveland has the pitching, but doesn't have the bats.
I hope Kluber falls off this year. Clevenger is going to be out a couple of months I read somewhere. You're right, they don't have that great of a lineup anymore. Ramirez looks shitty this year too, probably don't like the cold.

Twins actually made some moves this off-season. Hopefully the have enough.

We got a fan favorite kind of guy in Minnesota. He can play all over the field and even plays catcher. He had a gem yesterday playing third base. They call him "La Tortuga" or the turtle, Willians Astudillo. He rarely strikes out and can hit. He went all spring without striking out or walking I think I read. They're comparing his to Pablo Sandoval lol. I read an artictle about him last week that was pretty cool.
Willians Astudillo Is A Baseball Enigma

.342 lifetime average. Only 127AB's so that'll drop but he's really fun to watch and root for.

Gardy goes yard! Grand slam! 5-3 Yankees :)

@Throbbie_farts
That's good and all but Boone is pissing me off with his insistence to have Gardner bat leadoff. Is it too much to have to have DJ or Frazier batting ahead of Judge, Voit, and Torres? Fucks sake.. it would be nice if those guys had a chance to drive in some runs this year.

Frazier should be in that spot, but Gardy is the vet on the team at this point. He's spent his whole career there. I can see giving him some extra rope.

Let me guess...

With no open spaces on the bases, Gardy goes yardy!
No need to cook dinner tonight because he just served up a grand salami!
Big and small, touch em all!
1, 2, 3, 4 runs come home, there's nobody left to roam!

It was high. It was far. It was deep.
The Yankees win. The Yankees win.
Theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Yankees.....win.

I want to kill that fucking guy every time I hear his voice.

Royals / White Sox got into a scuffle after some butt-hurt over a HR celebration.

His next AB, predictably, he took one off the ass...

Baseball rules:
If you celebrate a HR while still in the batter's box, either you or someone else on your team will be hit with a pitch.

I have zero issue with this. The pitcher kept it low where he won't cause injury. If you want to celebrate that's fine, but it comes at a price. Anderson needs to take his medicine and trot on down to 1st base.

Maldonado should have let Anderson go get him some. He's a 6' 185 lb shortstop. Keller is a 6'5 230 lb grain-fed fucker from the south. Would have been entertaining.

I am still not sure why Anderson was thrown out. At that point in the game Keller was about to be taken out and Anderson was on first with no outs in a tied game. Definitely worked in favor if Royals.

Royals fans are bitches about the unwritten rules.

Anderson should've been tossed after that ridiculous HR celebration.

He makes Jose Bautista look humble with that shit.

Which team left their bench first? Anderson seemed like he was already starting to calm down and walk to first. The Royals catcher had everything under control.

No idea why the benches cleared.

I assumed he said some magic words. His actions didn't appear to warrant an ejection.

Another baseball rule. If two people are having an argument the entire team needs to enter the field. Even the bullpen.

I always enjoy watching the pitchers from both teams run side by side from the outfield all the way to the infield, at which point they start arguing with each other. Just once I'd like to see the bullpen pitchers get into a fight in the outfield.

Yeah but it was defused. Anderson didn't want that smoke.

And the unwritten rules are inconsistently applied.

No one said shit when David Ortiz flipped his bat every fucking time he hit a HR.

Now I agree he deserved to be hit, especially since that was the 2nd time he did that to the Royals, but getting thrown out for words is such a millenial thing to do.

Ortiz was an established star and a good hitter. That plays into it as well. Anderson has never hit more than 20 HRs in a season. Don't act like your Babe fucking Ruth because you happened to barrell up on a ball.

Thats more reason to bat flip. Have to get your gimmicks in when you can.

Why no talk about Votto popping to first for the first time in his career. As long as he has been around that was surprising.

Tim Anderson should have kept his head down and ran to first base. The whole "How dare you!?" was stupid. Of course you're going to pay for acting like a jerk. If he wasn't expecting it he's delusional. Take your bag and be done with it..

Going back to 2017, Votto has a MLB-best 0-Swing% of 16.3%. That means he only swung at 16.3% of pitches that were off the plate. Incredible discipline.

But even when the ball was off the plate and he swung, he made contact 77.2% of the time.
