General Should we allow swastikas and other racist symbols on this forum?

The other day I kept noticing a swastika as I was reading through posts over on Cageside. The user Papi Chingon @American Nazi Party lost a SN bet with @Bones Nose and I guess had to change their name and avatar to Hillary Clinton doing a sieg heil in front of a large swastika.

I asked both bettors if they might consider making a change to something more tactful (certainly there are hundreds of other ways to lampoon the Democratic party, Hillary, etc) and was essentially told it was a good thing to trigger people.

So now I ask the rest of you, going by our community standards and whatever else you think, should avatars and screennames be allowed to contain overtly racist imagery connected to historical mass murder like the Nazi flag, lynchings, ISIS, etc? Do you consider this all just in good fun? Does this turn away potential new members? Is it just free expression?

No, it shouldn't be allowed and when people are openly admitting to trolling they should be banned. It's a bad look for the site, particularly to new members.

This was a guiding principles the TOS. "Don't be an asshole." But because it isn't specifically written into the TOS we're seeing incredibly poor behavior like you're highlighting.

It is as you said free expression but that doesn't mean i have to like it.
I find it tasteless personally, but we have mods on here and they are the ones that judge if something is acceptable or not by community standards..

I think it's all about context; each situation judged accordingly.
A blanket ban would kinda feel like a continuation of America's retards pulling down statues.
Honestly I wouldn't imagine anyone getting upset by this until now, but it's good foresight to avert any future situations where something isn't done in good fun, like an avatar with only a swastika or the symbol for planned parenthood.

This instance seems geared more to the tongue in cheek 'all in good' fun category.

I like using the word midget a lot. if the word midget was censored on here that would suck.

a midget holding a nazi flag would probably be relevant to the OP.

Yes ppl who openly admit they are nonstop trolling should be dealt with and are not. I talk w psycho inmates and drug dealers and pimps and everyone shows a level of respect because if they don't, there are real life consequnces
Then I come here and ppl are nonstop trolling w zero respect. This is an mma forum w fighters on it. I'm not on here chasing ppl through different threads. I like to talk about my life.

My opinion is that such jokes harm the site much more than they are funny. And I recognize this was an attempt at humiliating another user, not promoting the ideology. It's still not very funny and simply is one more thing unbecoming to members and guests alike.



Also on the topic of of certain behavior...
Y'all can be angry with me, but I'd like to see an end to the random bikini women that have popped up in the last months. I thumb through the site at work or even just in public and don't need everyone assuming I'm porn watching when I'm reading mma and news articles.
Thread about motorcycles...random womans ass in a thong. Keep that shit in the relevant threads so it can be navigated around.
