Jorge told them about growing up in Miami, FL and the obstacles he had to overcome in life. He gives advice on how to reach their dreams and touches on his time with street fighting legend Kimbo Slice. After speaking to the kids and signing autographs for everyone in attendance. Ben Askren is the worst possible match-up for Jorge AND Ben. Ben is going to LnP him and Jorge will not be able to do a damn thing about it. Why is the UFC so fucking stupid?

Got to give credit to Askren for sucking them into this easy matchup. He played it well.

The promotion and the fans have very short memories and he exploited it.

Both guys seem to be genuine and what's not to like about that? But Jorge has been one of the few fighters who I consistently want to see win so, while that means sweet fuck all, I hope it's a really good fight and Masvidal wins on a cut or something like that.

on a side note, Americans often appear to be too easily entertained.

They should have just given him a title shot. We all really wanted to see a Robbie match-up but could go with Marty instead.

But no it's Jorge. I think the whole striker vs wrestler thing was done like 25 years ago already......

And we don't need to go back 25 years to see how this match plays out.

If Masvidal can't stop the Maia takedown, then he can't stop the Askren takedown.

Bad comparison. Chael couldn't stop the Maia takedown either.

This fight is much more a pick em than people think. Askren looked like total crap last fight until that choke and Masvidal hasn't been convincingly beaten by a grappler of any kind since that Toby Imada hail mary.

What does Maia taking down Chael have to do with whether or not Askren can take down Jorge Masvidal?

I never said Maia was a bad MMA wrestler by any stretch, but Askren is an objectively better wrestler than him.

And he probably won't be convincingly beaten by Ben...He will ne laid on by Ben more likely just the way Bendo and Maia did........THUS our dismay at this stupid match-up.

And we know how successful that's been, at the peak of MMA popularity.
Imagine how it would have gone over when UFC was almost dead.
