I love how a bunch of ignorant, clueless boxing judges in NJ 20 years ago convinced fans who stay with a sport for decades that what they thought MMA should be about is what it should really be about......
I found the results. Should I even bother finding this or just pass?

I like Jon Fitch as a person.
He's kind, intellectual, and deserving of the mma hof for his contributions to the sport.
He truly is a great guy.
At least I've chatted with him long enough to know that, so know that you're right, in that, it's "the game", at least under unified/semi-unified rules, that does need further evaluation.
Remember this "game" started with the word "Ultimate".
But the "game" has been, like boxing, re-defined for the almighty dollar.
So what you perceive as slights at Jon Fitch, don't.
I've been vocal enough light-heartedly for that understanding to be legit.
But my dislike is most certainly driven by the fact that I'm an old-school purist.
I appreciate cage generalship, I don't necessarily enjoy paying for it when it comes at the expense of what I view as the better man's career, or my dollar spent.

I get Rory gets to keep the belt but I think its bullshit he gets to move forward in the tournament with a draw while Fitch is eliminated.

I may be mistaken but I believe that if it weren't a title fight there would be a fourth round to determine a winner, and the reason they can't do it in a title fight is because the athletic commissions only allow 25 minutes maximum for a fight.

25 minutes is the maximum cage time allowed per event.
That’s why upcoming Invicta tournament is one 5 minute round quarterfinals and semifinals. Then 3 round 15 minute final.

It really all comes down to round 4, and though I haven't seen the official scorecards yet, I imagine the 2 judges with scores of 47-47 scored that round 10-10.
But that's actually bad scoring because, despite the fact that some of Rory's best punches and kicks were landed in the first two minutes of the round, Fitch secured a TD at the 3:18 mark and stayed in top position until 0:10 of the round, when the fight was stood up.
So that's 3 minutes 8 seconds of ground fighting. According to the unified rules of MMA, for rounds in which there is both stand-up and ground fighting, the round winner is determined by the person winning the round where the majority of the round took place.
Rory clearly won the standup and Fitch clearly won the grappling, but because 3:08 (i.e. >50% of round) was spent grappling while only 1:52 (i.e. <50% of the round) was spent striking, the round winner should have been the person who won the grappling exchange, i.e. Fitch.

Except usman dominated almost every second of those fights.
On the feet, Fitch was getting slapped around and turned into bambi in the fight. Laying and praying isn't going to negate all of that.
Just like Nelson trying to lay and pray Lewis didn't work cause he was getting blasted on the feet too.
