Just last week prior to his UFC Ottawa headliner against Al Iaquinta, lightweight contender Donald Cerrone was no longer entertaining a possible fight against Conor McGregor. “Cowboy” says that ship has sailed, and he would rather keep himself active until he gets to a title shot.

But after picking up a third straight win on Saturday, the 36-year-old Cerrone is now making it all about his son. Which is why is positioning himself to either get the next crack at the title, or to finally throw down with “The Notorious.”

“I guess the dad Cerrone is 3-0 now, so I’m on a new mission. I’ve got to build this boy a swimming pool,” Cerrone…

A swimming pool is about $70-$100k. WME should take care of that and thank Cerrone for being such an entertaining badass.

It's fascinating how often and how quickly fighters in general change their tune about all kinds of things.

I think it's a bit of a nature and nurture thing. They're impulsive and short-sighted (why else would you fight in a cage?) which means they never really think things through and just say whatevers on their mind at any given point with no regard to what they've said before.

Then they are forced into being a ludicrous combination of exploited slave/travelling carnival attraction/untrained professional wrestler that needs to beg for attention.

The end result is that from one interview to the next you get about as much logical and ethical consistency as you would from a drug addicted truck stop prostitute suffering from severe alzheimers.

I agree

is this match with Conor back on the table? perfect situation to talk it up. old school fighter, great record, good current streak - but he is arguably less dangerous than Tony or Khabib.
