When people want to appreciate the seedy underbelly of government conspiracies the easiest thing to do is point them to Iran-Contra. "Well, we've got a problem and this seems like a solution. A solution that might have a bunch of unintended consequences but rather than thinking this through we'll just go full steam ahead and put out the fires we make along the way. Even if that means making more fires."
I talk to a doc at the VA. Gov. incompetence is rampant in that system and they aren’t going to fix it. Most of it stems from union rules. It creates the worse of the worse employees. Patient care is about 10th on the list of their priorities.

and that's every government agency you're going to find, including intelligence agencies. It's people solving the problems they're given to stay out of trouble. Usually that means more problems are created, once in a blue moon it means something actually good comes of it.

Taking care of our vets should be a priority but they can’t even come close to getting it right. If people knew what really went on it would piss off a lot of people. Vets are treated horribly and and if you want to actually do the right thing the system doesn’t allow for it. In fact you can get in trouble for doing to right thing. Union rules take priority over everything.

One of my friends here has basically been told to mooch off the system here because if he's easy to get along with and as long as he does his case worker (or whatever the fuck she's called) won't have to take on someone else.

She didn’t have to know how emails work. She simply went with whatever the idiots in her circle advised her. She’s in her 70’s ffs. My mom is in her 70’s and can barely do anything on a computer but use Facebook games. lol

Do we have the same mother? I had to go over there and turn off a “loud noise” the computer makes when she plays candy crush. They added some annoying stupid tune. Settings was right there but mom . . .
