He has hit a HR in 10.9% of his ABs, which ranks him 3rd in the NL behind only Christian Yelich (13.7%) and Cody Bellinger (11.9%)

Dietrich's career HR per AB percentage is 3.4% - I'd anticipate a drift to the mean as the season wears on.
Dietrich hit another one last night.
That's 8 HRs in 67 ABs this season.

It sounds like the Reds are calling up their top prospect Nick Senzel and starting him tonight. He was drafted as an infielder, but the Reds don't have an opening there. They played him at CF during spring training and in the few games he has played this season in the minors (He was injured at the end of spring training with a sprained ankle).

Contact hitter with decent power. He was the #2 overall pick in the 2016 draft. He doesn't have the fanfare of Vlad Jr, but he's a young stud that will hopefully be in the league for a long time.

Another 2 HRs so far today.

You guys are all on notice. Dude is legit.
3 HRs in 14 ABs.

He went into a little slump and didn't hit HRs in his next 3 ABs.

So he's now hit 3 HRs in 17 ABs.

There's 128 games left in the season. If he gets 4 ABs a game, that's 512 ABs.

Do the math, fuckers. That computes to 93 HRs this season.

As I said before - you are all on notice.

That guy is a stud. He hits the ball a ton.

The Twins signed a guy from Texas in the offseason to maybe be the #5 starter. I wasn't pumped about it. I thought he'd just be shitty and get beat up. Boy was I wrong. Martin Perez must have worked on something in the offseason. His K's per nine has jumped up and his ERA is down. Dude is 5-0 for us and the team usually scores a lot of runs for him.
couple

The Twins has some semblance of a rotation for the first time in a while. Odorizzi just won AL player of the week. Berrios is good. Gibson pitches well then gives up 4-5 runs in the fifth inning on an average start. Hopefully Pineda does better in warm weather.

Pineda will finally dial everything in and look fantastic for a couple of starts and then he'll end up on the DL.

At least that's what he has done everywhere he's ever pitched.

Twins went to Toronto and are about to sweep the Jays. Outscored them 20 to 1 so far. I lol'd at Dick Bremer the play by play guy earlier. He said, "It's this guys first at bat and Polanco arlready has three hits!"

The Twins have everything going right for the first time in a long time. They're getting great starting pitching and have 7 guys on pace for over 30HR. I love hot starts but hope they can keep it going. I'm a pessimist and worry the pitching will falter in the long run. Hopefully that's not the case.

Ohtanki got gunned down by Buxton the other night. He was tagging from third and Buxton threw a 98mph strike to Garver. Bad news though, Garver hurt his ankle on the play. Twins have had him catching mostly. I think he was headed towards the All-star game. Jason Castro ain't that bad and seems like he doesn't like being out played. He seems motivated and makes the most of his starts. La Tortuga (the fat guy I posted about a while ago) will probably catch more games in Garver's absence. I saw a graphic on MLB Central this morning.

Yo sgotwalks @sgotwalks, Canada can be proud of that Soroka kid pitching for the Braves. 21 years old, 6 starts, 4-1 record, 0.98ERA. He's leading the league in beaning hitters too with 6HBP's :D.

Edit- I thought he was from BC, but he's from Calgary Alberta...whatever haha

People are saying they might get signed after the draft. If someone picked them up they'd lose a pick or something like that. I don't understand how it works too much.

Hey Frank, I'm actually glad you posted this as I wasn't aware of the kid until now. I lost my love for baseball after the Jays made a long overdue run at it again a few years ago, only to let our General Manager Alex Anthopoulos walk at the end of the season. The guy was doing a great job, but the new president wanted to reign him in and diminish his power for some fucked up reason, and the team has gone to shit since then. Now, coincidentally enough the Canadian born Anthopoulos is with Atlanta and you're telling me about the hot shot young Canadian pitcher who is doing good shit for the Braves, and again I am reminded how the Jays can suck a bag of dicks for letting him go. I wanted desperately to start getting excited when they brought Guererro Jr up to the bigs last month, but a slow start tempered my enthusiasm a bit. However, he does have 3 HR's now, and he will be fun to watch for a few years.

Thanks for the heads up Frank. I'll start paying some attention to Mike Soroka now. Funny, I was hanging out in Calgary quite a bit the year he was born there (1997). Damn, the years fly by..........and this kid is throwing heat in the major leagues now!
