I wish Splinty @Splinty put a feature on TMMAC that led to automatic bannings through mass reporting.

I'd more than happily stay up all night hopping from one IP address to another and sending reports in an effort to get that sloppy bitch Sex Chicken @Sex Chicken banned.

Anyone using Facebook in a serious capacity needs to reevaluate there lives.
I use Facebook in a serious capacity.

I had a family member who was almost terminally ill last year and I used Facebook to coordinate not only family but medical appointments, updates, connect with services and more. I would not have been able to do all that without the service.

I currently use Facebook to stay in touch with family who live far away from me, plan events such as my racing season, keep my calendar organized, and more.

If you use for the good, it will be good. But people invite cunts on their friend-lists, and then complain about FB. With all of my famly oversees it is nice to catch up with them on one place.

Our definitions of "serious use" are very different.

Yes. More specifically I mean people who allow their life behaviors to be dictated by things they read on Facebook.
Understood.

I think another poster put it best.

Like any tool, it's how/where/why etc you use it that will make it work...or not...for you.

I'm concerned by how many people I've watched lose their minds on Facebook over stuff they read that are just products of the Facebook filter bubble.

I think the problem is that people have a tough time understanding communication without the nuances. Facial expressions, sound, context etc get lost on Facebook easily. Add to this that those who post often don't know how to frame what they want to say very well and it's easy to see how things go sideways.

However, I suspect those that fly off the handle easily on Facebook, would probably do the same in real life/face-to-face in similar situations with only social morays holding them somewhat in check.

I'm reminded of people who say, "I am just telling the truth" or "I just keep it real" who don't grasp there is a difference between telling the truth and being hurtful.

Either way, I really enjoy Facebook, and I like to think I use to MY full advantage without being hurtful etc etc.
