Ladies and gentlemen, this is what Dunning-Kruger looks like in action.

A guy who thinks the only division that actually matters is the worst division thinks he's being the clever and reasonable one. You can slurp up all the 'pound for pound' marketing nonsense you like, but it doesn't change the fact that only the absolute best fighter truly matters and only guys who can fight at HW can be that guy.

The only way to prove you are the best is to become HW champ (and MMA has fucked this up by having a HW weight limit, but it's still therefore the best we've got).

Midget divisions are for selling tickets to rubes. We all sit around and agree to lie to each other that we are watching 'the best'. But they are just a novelty sideshow.
Heavyweight lovers are dudes who like to snuggle with bears. I prefer twinks any day of the week. Get on my level.

Open weight tourneys prove who the king is, nobody cares who the toughest of the 5th graders is.
In your world Andy Ruiz vs. Anthony Joshua is the greatest megafight while I'm out here still jacking off to Hagler/Hearns decades later. Is this your god?

The issue with the HW/LHW division isn't a bunch of guys too afraid of going up to HW... It's that HW has the WIDEST range of weight for fighters. The gap between the top and bottom of of HW (206-265) is the same as the gap as the difference between FW and LHW.... No one thinks that it's a good idea to have Max Holloway fight Gus, or Cowboy to fight Anthony Smith..... But we'll accept a guy at 215/225 pounds to fight a guy who cuts to make 265.

There actually needs to be a (I'd say) 210-235 division, and a 235+ division....

Fly- 120-135
BW- 136-150
FW- 151-165
LW- 166-180
WW- 181-195
MW- 196-210
LHW- 210-235
HW- 236+

This will cut out excessive weight cutting, and give some interesting fights on the heavy side (some of those LHW cut from 230 to 205, and some HW's don't cut and walk around at 230-240)
What would cut out excessive weight cutting is a BAN ON CUTTING WEIGHT!!!

You see how Eddie is fighting at 170 in ONE? That's from not being allowed to cut. A 235 division just makes the INCREDIBLY shallow hw division even WORSE.

*smh*

So Anthony Smith, a guy who has been stopped more than 10 times in his career, is now the 2nd best LHW in the world? LOL.

And we're supposed to believe that a roid-licensed heavyweight, who is too afraid to fight in his own weight class, is the 'pound for pound' (dipshits don't even understand this concept) GOAT because he's the king of a potato farm?

What a steaming pile of shit that division is.

At some point all of you spastics were convinced that it was the 'marquee division', when in reality the division has always been a division for HWs too scared to fight at HW. Cruiserweight is the least respected division in boxing for this reason.

It's always been a joke division and it's good to see the facade stripped away.
How long do you think you'll be in therapy for to recover?
