Same reason no one is protesting Julian Assange extradition to the US. Thousands were protesting a potential us extradition request 9 years ago but they were met with 20 times as many numbers with their heads in the sand calling him a rapist. Now most people see it for what it is but they're tired and no longer give a shit.
Sad but none of want our comfy lives shaken up.
