The only guy Bones ever fought with his attributes was named Alexander.
And he gave him a run for his money.
This is why Jones will never be GOAT, he should be fighting at HW :rooster:

Why do you think Jones should be a heavyweight?

He might have been fighting one weight class up, but many people don't remember that this was prime TRT Vitor.

And Jones destroyed him. Outside of that incredible arm bar in round 1, Vitor had no significant offense the entire fight.

sometimes.. both cut around the same to make their respective classes actually.
I agree.
Khabib usually fights guys his size and reach, & hasn't cleared out his division.
Not a good comparison to Jones.

Tony Ferguson is DEFINITELY a threat to Khabib.
Anderson Silva was to Jon Jones years ago, but they wouldn't fight each other; all Jones equals are fighting at HW as far as reach.
Honestly idgaf, let people do what they do.
I'm just saying if a guy walks around at 6'4" 230# before a camp and is still in great shape, I can't even put him in a goat conversation for cutting to fight at 205 his whole career, let alone Jones who carries several other asterisks.
We've all been waiting to see him fight someone challenging his whole career, but are instead sold guys who clearly aren't a serious challenge.
And he's not willing to challenge himself with the bigger dogs.

If a guy is successful at making the weight, and never misses it, why does he have to move up to appease fans? What you described what Jones does is exactly what Chuck Liddell did, what Forrest Griffin did, Tito Ortiz did, and no one demanded that they fight heavier ( and I do realize that with the exception of Chuck, no one has been nearly as dominant as Jones is).

Fighters shouldn't be forced increase their weight class just to prove their legacy. Your natural walk around weight isn't always your best performance weight in fighting.... Most fighters lose 10-15 lbs just in training for a fight, then cut an additional 10-15 in water.... And a lot of times, diet will cut out 10 lbs too (that extra weight they put on celebrating and living it up).

Which is why I said idgaf what he does.
His legacy is his legacy; that looks a lot different in my eyes than others.
He doesn't have to do anything, but what anyone does is their legacy.

This is no different than the Mighty Mouse situation but at a different weight class.

I'm a "purist", old school.
I'd put Igor V & Mousasi ahead of Jones on a potential GOAT list on attempts/rulesets/conditions alone, doping aside, and would much rather they come in not weighing 30# more when they walk in the cage than the previous day.
And I put Cormier ahead of him on the fact that he's half a foot shorter giving up over a foot of reach, and he's clean.

Jones doesn't need to do anything for anyone, except to change my opinion.
He might want a time machine to start with there.

Santos has no chance. He hits like a truck so people are excited, but he's going to get taken down and mauled.
In round 1 and 2, he is a serious killer, but after that he is toast. Imo, he is a serious threat.

Agree with what you’re saying but Because there are others who goes above Jones’s accomplishments, it’s hard to solidify him as the true Goat.

What Jones has done is great but he’d only be the LHw goat with what he’s done.

Jones can do whatever he wants, fight at any weight he wants but until he moves up and claim the HW strap, he’s under Nunes (especially if she defends at 145 successfully) when it comes to Goat convo. And yes, GSP also even if he haven’t defended and it was Bisping who he took the mw belt from

I agree, don't underestimate him too much though, he does hit like a truck as you said, if Jones can't time a take down or work him to the deck in the clinch he will probably still piece him up, but Santos has a chance at all times with the power he carries.
