Saratoga is my hometown; glad you enjoyed your time at the track.Upstate New York is beautiful. It’s part of the attraction of driiving to Cape Cod. I went to Fishkill NY 2 years ago for a show. I snuck in not the owners
boxes at Saratoga Springs and won 150 bucks on a long shot. I drove up the Hudson River on the way home. I loved it there. If my wife chickens out on the long road trip, I would consider going to the Finger Lakes.
Here is the beautiful bastard.
I live in one of the last bastions of freedom in this forsaken country. You live in the midwest. No one cares
Man I loved Saratoga. We rented an apartment for two nights and toured all around there. Had no idea the racetrack was such an institution and what a spectacle it was, huge crowds, tailgaters. A band I really liked was playing in Fishkill (Daryl Hall’s bar) so we made a road trip of it. After Fishkill we drive up the Hudson River Valley to Saratoga, it was a great trip.Saratoga is my hometown; glad you enjoyed your time at the track.
What others have said about Myrtle Beach is correct- it is very much like a big state fair/flea market. Pawleys Island, Surfside and North Myrtle Beach are nicer and less “rednecky”; but Myrtle is fine for a short getaway as long as you are not looking for quiet elegance.
None of this ever happenedMan I loved Saratoga. We rented an apartment for two nights and toured all around there. Had no idea the racetrack was such an institution and what a spectacle it was, huge crowds, tailgaters.
Oh nice. I've meant to visit Charleston. I just looked it up, and I didn't realize it was on the water. (Beach is a must for my wife and kid). That is a great idea. The only issue is that there is so much historical stuff there, my wife and kid have zero interest in it, and it will bug the shit out of me being there without being able to check all the stuff out. I guess I can get them settled at the beach for a day and then go solo. Thanks.Pass on Myrtle Beach for the reasons already stated.
How about Charleston?
Look at Sullivan’s Island if you are looking for quiet; Folly Beach if you are more a crowd/typical beach town guy.Oh nice. I've meant to visit Charleston. KYou American/European guys are spoiled you can hit so many cities/regions in a 6 hour drive. Canada is barren. For instance I'm in Toronto, and the next city west is Winnipeg. I have no real interest in Winnipeg but It is a city in my country that I'd like to see and I have some friends there, but is a 22 hr drive. Montreal is the next city East and it's only 6 hours, so I've been there a bunch of times. I have family out East in PEI and I used to visit them every summer. It is a 22 hour drive.
I'm 44 years old and I've never seen 80% of my own country. Sure I could suck it up and spring for airfare but the problem is that none of these landlocked Canadian cities (Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton) have a lot to offer as far as a vacation destination, when in comparison for the same ticket price I could fly to Mexico, Caribbean or even some parts of Europe.
Is it hard for you to get out of town for a vacation, or is it legal to rollerblade along the side of the highway in Florida?
Talks about Winnipeg and PEI but doesn't consider BC, lol. Keep it that way ya goof. You American/European guys are spoiled you can hit so many cities/regions in a 6 hour drive. Canada is barren. Hey! I purposely left out BC because I have no excuse. BC is worth the plane ticket. I will be in BC within the next two years. I will right this wrong, and show the people of BC how a true G relaxes.Talks about Winnipeg and PEI but doesn't consider BC, lol. Keep it that way ya goof.
