Ours was not as fun as it could have been. Had to call the cops on some neighbors setting off fireworks around the corner.

At first we were just sitting on the stoop enjoying them, but then we started to feel like they were way too low. Live sparks/embers were hitting roofs across the street.

Pretty much immediately after that registered I saw them still live hitting the ground across the street, and a split second later a clump landed right by my son's foot and some ash burned my sister's leg. No real injury, but we ran inside and I had to call it in. Bummer, but my son's foot would have been seriously injured if that had landed a couple inches further, and I didn't want my house set on fire.

Oh well. The big difference this year was that my son really enjoyed seeing them more than he was scared of the noise, and I really enjoyed them with him the ten minutes or so we were out there.

I have never had that experience with sky fireworks in the neighborhood before.

I’m glad you guys are okay! I’m sorry the night got ruined.

If they were tossing them in the air after lighting, they’re dumb. Seriously, I don’t understand people.
I lit off many fireworks, but I would never light and toss. I’d like to stay alive and keep all my extremities.

Some mortar debris fell in my yard and started a lil fire, hosed that fire out

was up till 1AM last night checking the yard after each mortar so the house didn't burn down...could hear debris landing on the roofs around us

Them mortars are illegal so I took some video in case they burnt up somebodies house

Didn't light any fireworks myself and considered popping off a round or two, but decided against it.

Ain't no mortar debris gonna set anything on fire, stupidest law Oregon ever created.
Unless of course it's a intense heatwave and dried cedar debris is scattered on a pretty poorly maintained roof.

Check out what I did in a coul-de-sac around cedars after a heatwave; houses 30' apart in 2013.
Just kept hoses and a pressure washer hooked up just in case.

That said, it's always wise to clean the gutters and wash the roof before the 4th, but banning things MAKES people stupid about them, ya know ;)
Whether it's fireworks, guns, mari-ji-wanna, etc.
There's 364 days to prepare for one, and the government is trying to be our parents by saying what my dad always told me, NO!
BOOOOOOO!

It happened in my yard last night or I wouldn't believe it, most of whatever it was stopped burning like 25 feet off ground but a few were making contact with roofs and ground

Some small flaps of flaming material was coming off of these people's Mortars it looked like, or else it was from something else they were lighting off...fuckers were shooting mortars that were low altitude or something, they were not reaching the normal height of the rest of the ones in the neighborhood...could even be homemade type shit cause these fuckers are shady and stupid

I love mortars, don't care if folks have em. Not a fan of these certain neighbors and their bootleg mortars though, even their fireworks are of shady character.
