As a fan I agree with these but as a promoter I think there's too many risks having fights collapse.
lol wut? people are more likely to miss weight when they can't weight cut?

HS wrestling figured this out 30 years ago, it's not rocket surgery.

@blank and I were talking about same day weigh ins and what happens if you don't make weight. Much like Robbie Hart @Ricky Bobby and Sex Chicken @Sex Chicken I never wrestled in HS so I'm not sure what they do or the comparison you're making.

they take your weight at the start of the season (or camp, for example in UFC) at a minimum hydration level. Then you're allowed to lose 1.5% of your body weight every week, as long as you make the weight at the minimum hydration level and your body fat stays above 7% (men) or 12%(women).

Fewer people would miss weight, and if someone did for some reason, the eligible pool of fighters is everyone who's within 1.5% of fighting weight. So there would be real incentives to being on-weight all the time for guys looking to break-in on a short notice fight, and everyone is fighting at their peak level, with maximum brain-cushioning.

Good for the fighters, good for the fans, good for the sport. Nobody in HS Wrestling is trying to turn the rules back.

I like this. Weekly benchmarks you have to meet, in training camp. Say a fighter misses their weight target 3 weeks before camp, it would give promoters more time to find replacements.

This is what I think of when people miss or bitch about weight.

Vitor viciously chewing ice when he's already been given the option to miss because Rumbleweight came in 6 pounds over.

I'm sure Dana was just as shocked by that video and equally concerned about the effects of extreme weight cutting in the UFC.

It’s good for the sport to watch a chick starve and dehydrate herself for zero benefit to anyone involved with the sport
No one watches their fights anyway, lol
Reminds me of the movie Whiplash. The agony of being the best in the world at something nobody cares or knows anything about.
