The seafood in Oregon sucks. Everyone here thinks it's so great...it is NOT.
where is here? Where did you go? What did you eat?

Have you ever had Lingcod or Steelhead? pretty damn tasty and you can catch them yourself fairly easily with a small boat

I guess it depends on where you are from...not trying to say it is amazing, I much prefer the variety of warmer waters

Don't believe I have tried those but I have tried the Salmon many times and just don't dig the taste and cooking shellfish in just water without seasoning is also not my thing. I guess I just got used to Cajun flavored foods.

Cajun is the shit, looks/tastes so good and I have probably only had imitations of it

Oregon cooking methods can be rather plain no doubt...One thing for sure good about it is the freshness...The places I go have pickups with coolers coming in every morning(50 miles from ocean)...I don't do shellfish mostly, prefer crawfish or crab...Salmon is a great food source and healthy but I agree, the taste is just OK when cooked...I like fresh oregon seafood fried, they probably don't fry it as good and seasoned as the south but oh well.

I prefer the Cajun style stuff, even if I have rarely had a good version of it...Loved all the pictures I was looking at from foods I hadn't heard of in Boots post...jealous of southern food for sure

Oregon has fresh going for it basically, as far as flavor and cooking methods it does seem primitive.

My parents used to run a little motel call Sunkist Motel in Biloxi around 1990. It is no longer there but it was pretty sweet living on the beach as a kid right next to the water park.
Mississippi is a fucking shithole. Not even joking or trying to rile you up.

Honestly the worst state I've ever visited/driven through. Nothing but catfish restaurants, churches, and shitty roads.

I'm sure your parents' motel was great though.

Lol. I agree mostly.
It was a shithole. As a young kid it was fun but we were only there for a short time. I haven't been there in probably 30 years so I have no idea what it is like now.

May have stayed there. Sounds familiar. Wet Willy’s was my heaven back then.

If you are ever heading on I-10 to NOLA, there's a little town called Scott in Lafayette Parish. It's called the "Boudin Capital of the World". Stop by Billy's for pepper jack boudin balls and then head into town to a little place called Uncle T's for some damn good po'boys, oysters, boiled crawfish, etc. Leave room for their bread pudding, which is possibly the best thing I've ever eaten. Shit tasted like a honey bun almost.
I'll hit it tomorrow. How far are you from NO?

Dat salmon doe...
He said he didn't like the flavor of salmon

I love it but I guess if you are coming from cajun food it probably tastes rather bland

I just grew to love oregon's seafood for freshness and I enjoy eating locally so that factors in also.

Just got to my Airbnb, AC is busted. Moving me next door for a couple days while they fix it.

Opened the door and walked in to a sauna, LoL

The humidity has been like 200% here and the temp “Real Feel” is at a constant 100°-102° the last week lol

But... our culture always finds a reason to drink, cook, and party, so it shouldn’t be hard to pass a good time cher.

Shit going wrong never fails.
This is nothing compared to the Chicago trip 2 weeks ago...
They moved me next door. Not having the fam made me easy to accommodate. Little smaller, nice enough for two days while they fix AC next door.

Looks perfectly fine. Enjoy your stay. Don't give out too much brain cancer.

It's the good cancer.

First meal: blue crab risotto at Sofia's.
Place is well-rated and within walking distance. And hunger is the best sauce.
