Generally, red > green.
but green apples can be okay unless it's not shiny granny smith with a leathery skin.

I feel that for apples that grow on trees wild outside different rules apply. here green apples can be great, especially if they are not sweet, but heavy, small and hard.

Imma say: Elstar, Booskopp, Braeburn and on a pery day I'll eat a golden delicious twice a year.

The only reddish apples I like are Honeycrisp. I don't know what they are called but the truly deep colored red ones taste like total shit.

I usually get the green granny smith.
