I can think of some interviews Tito's done that would have merited this kind of apology, but what he said recently doesn't seem to fit his rationale here. Most adults as they age get softer and more reasonable, including athletes. But it's possible to go too far with it. Tito's still competing, and doing pretty well, actually. He's got every right to claim equality or even superiority as a competitor. I think almost everyone agrees both Dan and Jon beat him, but that's besides the point.
It's cool though. Whatever rocks his boat. His longevity in the sport has been amazing, so long live Tito.
