Has taking off the shorts ever worked, by the way? I mean has it ever come down to THAT, to actually make weight? I can't think of a case. And Max didn't need to do it---he clocked in at 145 on the nose. They get the 1 lb leeway, right? Silly, man.

As a person involved in boxing i have seen lots of guys do this. weigh-in first in underwear and be just over, take them off and be on weight. i would say i have seen this 100 times.

I can't think of a reason why they don't just calibrate the scale to account for their weigh in gear. The UFC mandates what they can and can't wear to weigh ins, it's not like it'd be very hard to figure out.

LOL. I have to admit I didn't think of that either. Maybe they want to avoid any "incorrect calibration" shenanigans, which you know some fighters would be willing to try, no matter how silly it would seem. And we all know, these guys are so drained when they're cutting, some won't be thinking straight and will try to point fingers. So Just dealing with the bullshit could be a real headache for Dana (because of course athletic commission officials, managers and lawyers would all get involved) and some big fights could be jeopardized.

In real life terms, it would be very rare for all this to happen, but you know, if it happens even once---that's the thinking IMO.

The calibration logic is perfect though. Great idea in theory.

The comission signs on the fighters wraps. There's no reason they couldn't do the same. Make them all wear the same short, and have them put them on just before getting on the scale. Easy peasy.

They can't all wear the same shorts though. Is Derrick Lewis gonna wear the same shorts as Henry Cejudo? Then you have women's entire division...

About the wraps, are those universalized? Or are you saying each fighter has his own wraps calibrated specially for him?

What I believe the AC's and UFC want is a completely universalized calibration. A single calibration that would subtract out the precise weight of the wraps and shorts, and to do have this handled in advance without any further calibration needed. No personalized calibration for any fighter.

I might be overly paranoid, but I'm trying to think like a sneaky lawyer or disgruntled, irrational, finger-pointing bobcat growling weight-drained fighter.

Yes. You could give them a fucking potato sack. It's a weigh in, not a fashion show.
Certain fighters like Michelle Waterson will be able to argue that being seen in a potato sack harms their brand. But something stylish could be devised by talented folk. Perhaps even yourself and Derrick Lewis working in tandem? If Dana worries about the bottom line, I'm sure child labor is available in multiple basements throughout Las Vegas.

Tremendous props to you here. Problem 100% fixed, my friend.

Seriously though, I can't think of why your idea wouldn't be implemented. I like to imagine there are real reasons for not fixing weird little problems like this weigh-in disrobing thing. So I reckon they just don't care enough about it. Maybe if fighters themselves were vocal about it. That's the obstacle to everything that is a real problem though. Lack of genuine unity/lack of legit union. That goes into a bigger subject though...

and she'd be right, of course we all know how much the UFC cares about their fighters' brands.

I think just general ignorance covers any bases that need covering. In theory, this shouldn't be a thing that happens at all and that's how the UFC views it. "Do your job and there's no problem." You'd think after losing so many fights to bad weight cuts, title fights included, they'd want to do something about it, but here we are.

Penis shaming on this forum has got to end
Couldn’t agree more. Before anyone criticizes another man’s penis they should have to post a photo of their own penis.
Here’s mine. Not bragging, but I’ve gotten a lot of compliments.

I have to agree.

I've had a few days to reflect on this thread, and I now see that my joy in seeing this big-time fighter's micropenis stems from my own sad situation. At last measure, I sport a .45 inch cock, fully erect. This represents a 50% increase in size for me, as I've been doing everything I can, medical and other, to increase my size.

I gladly welcome my new idol, Max Holloway, to the invisible penis club!

Not for a title fight, no one pound allowance
