Former UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo wants to waste no time in getting to another title shot at this point in his career. In an interview with Combate, the 32-year-old revealed that he has been considering a drop to the bantamweight division and a desire to take on champion Henry Cejudo, right away.

Although he was bested via unanimous decision by Alexander Volkanovski in his last outing, at UFC 237 back in May, Aldo has put his name out there for Cejudo’s consideration—after hearing that the ‘Messenger’ is open to taking on all challengers.

“At the moment, we’ve been thinking about what is the best chance to fight for a belt again,” Aldo revealed. “I sat…

he walks around at 165 he has to lose about 10 lbs then cut 20 to make 135 he will look very bad at 135 add to that he will go vs a guy who is very physically strong at 135 lbs. he has a good chance at catching cejudo with knees but I think his cardio will be really bad at 135 lbs.

I don't think he could make it. It should be 55 if anything but he would get murdered. He's not the same fighter he once was, which is fine, but if he does drop down I think it would hinder him rather than benefit him

He talked about going to light weight for years...
Pretty sure he said he was considering 155 because 145 was a struggle. I know it was spoken as the reason for his shitty cardio, mark hominick and Ken Flo both won fifth rounds versus him.

Back then he had an aura about him, when he showed up and was plodding people wondered why he wasn't the killing machine they saw in wec and put it down to either the weight cut or fighting safe to preserve that champ dollar. I think the fights with max proved he's just lost a step.

If he goes to 135 it leaves no shadow of a doubt that his shitty unanimous decision wins were nothing to do with weight.

The post roids era is really showing early 30s to be the end of a career like most pro sports. Wonder what DC's taking.

When was the last time he threw a kick? What ever happened to the kicking?

I actually think DC is clean im guessing his losses came from his competition being juiced now that no one juices he dominates

I hope so. If DC or GSP were conclusively found to be dirty, I think that would finally make us all so disillusioned that we'd have to give up.

He's a strong guy, he could stand to lose a little muscle. A diet change and higher cardio could get him closer to his goal. He needs to take his time and not try to do it all by dehydrating.

GSP was intelligent and moved up slowly and was a good sized 185. Since then he has taken his time and shrunk down to where he could fight at 155 if he wanted to. There's a right way and a wrong way to make weight. Changing your frame slowly and then doing the dehydration last is the right approach.

gsp wouldn't have made 155 he was the same size as rashad evans. I don't even think aldo can make 135 with your proposed diet plan it is still very hard for a 5'7" 165 lb man to make 135 lbs I dont even know how he makes 145 he might not even be at 165 lbs anymore he might be walking around 170-175lbs he is probably the size of a LW.

You can change your body with a process. I personally walked around at 220 in high school but with much running and cardio and a diet change was eventually able to box at 155. Muscle can be shed.

It's an interesting match up but I don't like it. As others have said it will be very very tough for him to cut that much weight and he's going to look like a zombie if he even makes it.
