Passing the torch how? Not arguing with you, just curious of your reasoning.
I've always considered Igor a smaller Fedor. Mirko was a skilled kickboxer (I realize Igor was a kickboxer too but his hands were his real weapons) that started in Pride with special rules to suit his style as he transitioned into mma. Igor was an undersized tank that destroyed people with his insane power, speed and well roundedness.
I know he was a different fighter to Cro Cop, entirely, he was my favourite fighter when I started watching MMA.
Igor had never been knocked out like that and I know it wasn't the end of his career but it was a signal that he wasn't able to compete with the top Heavies anymore.
It showed me that Mirko was the real deal as well. I suppose passing of the torch is the wrong phrase, it was for me though.
^Igors ground game is very similar to Fedors style, similar build too, both undersized Heavies that dominated the division for years, way more similarities there.
Igors ground and pound vs Enson was ridiculous, Fedor used that blueprint as well, wrist control, looping shots around the guard, leaping into guard.

In that context I agree with you analogy.
Igor was (still is) my favourite fighter. If they ever make a Ukrainian version of Logan he would be perfect for Wolverine.
He still is for me as well.
Igor fought giants, bare knuckle, he is NHBs best tournament fighter, best NHB fighter in general in my opinion.
His streak, including so many one night tournaments is unrivalled, brilliant striker , well rounded fighter like you said, tough as fuck.
