I'd go with blind. Appearance is not everything plus I can still play or listen to music. There are way more cool blind people than there are deaf people. Sex will still be good, might even be better since there are no false expectation from the visuals. Plus, there will be ton of people doing shit for you. Even a dog. I'd miss the psychedelic visuals for sure though.

deaf, as I feel it would require less assistance from others and less specialization of my environment in order to live a 'normal' life.

Have to go with deaf. you can learn to read lips and sign language - fuck having to navigate the world with your hearing, a long ass cane and a dog that could go schizo at any moment and walk you and him right off a cliff.

agreed. dafuq makes anybody think that having a disabled (pardon the language) child would be a good idea. I aint saying put them through the Sparta criteria but come on...…..would those parents choose to have a child that couldn't walk?

I suffered partial hearing loss a few years ago, and it's been pretty great. Mostly because I'm married with 2 kids.

I always heard stories about old men with hearing aids who turn them off on purpose. Now I know why.

Deaf without hesitation in this scenario. But what a horrible decision to have to make. No more music would be horrific. But day to day life would be much easier being able to see where you're going.

I have had multiple problems (all short term) with my ears. They get infected at the drop of a hat. Last Monday my right ear was losing its hearing everytime my face moved, then back, then gone again. Very disorientating.

Would still pick being full blown deaf over blind tho.
